Review / Comparison: P60 Drop-In Round-Up and XM-L Shootout

+2 on all accounts! 8)

Very nice comparison! Where might one purchase that Vinz drop in? Yet again you have me wanting to spend my money!

If you want to see more things, which he made - take a look at this (drop-in built pictures with some beamshots):

Foy,

Very nice job!

Very nice! Thanks for a lot of great information!

Wow, thanks for all your hard work Foy!

Atta boy Foy… your hard work is much appreciated by all of us. THANX !

Another Awesome job Foy!!! Great collection!!!

You guys are too kind. I put off doing it because I actually had something more comprehensive in mind that I wanted to do. The scale of it kept me from doing anything. I finally realized that something like this needs to be an on-going resource where everybody talks about their own experiences, not just me. Especially since Foy is not the genius behind the best of these remarkable modules.

Yes, my indoor shots do none of the better performers any justice. Outdoor beam shots coming.

Your Vinz looks killer in your L2P. Pretty much makes any light look killer.

I need to confirm with Vinz but I'm pretty sure the module itself is completely waterproof. I think all that is needed is an o-ring or gasket between the drop-in and the underside of the lip that the original lens sat on and the light would probably be IPX-7 or better.

Updates on the way . . . right after my Sons of Anarchy fix.

I'll put these above where they belong but I thought I'd show how one of my U2's compares to the MD26.

XM-L/U2 in a Solarforce L2P

Vinz MD26E in my old version silver L2.

You can see the SMO delivering more throw against the fence at the end but clearly, one module is brighter than the other.

Foy

What more can I say? Fantastic work Foy, thanks.

I’ve enjoyed being entertained and educated by many members of this site but I have to say no one has hurt my wallet more than you. The 7 S/F L2 whatevers I currently have, the 4 I gifted, all of course needed drop ins, Manafont U/Fs, INT’L Outdoors, E-1320s etc. Without a doubt, you’ve been correct directing me each time but now I need a VINZ, and another L2P to go with it.

To make matters worse, I seem to like making my own P60 drop-ins thanks to folks like OL, Match and E1320 who seem compelled to answer my questions and encourage my anti-wallet behavior. At any rate you’re responsibile, you’ll be hearing from my attorney

s. I can’t wait to see Matches P60!!!

I can't wait to see Match's drop-in either.

Foy

Awesome roundup of an impressive collection.

Wow Foy Huge effort! I think you need some of those bulb holders SF sells.

Thank you Foy! this is one great write up man
guess my first p60 drop-in is going to be from manafont (Ultrafire XML T6 3Mode)

Very nice work Foy !

Makes me want to play ! Its Wednesday today , school finishes Friday , for ever !

I been thinking about a lathe for ever , Solarforce L2 is so lego , so mod friendly , and those drop ins just make me sad all over !

Sad cos I havent played for almost 2 years ..

Hmmm , maybe time to play hard !

School taking all your time . . . as it should be. Definitely the right priority. Real life has been dragging me away too. Amazing how fast things change around here. Seems a lot different over these past few months. When I first came here, it was your reviews that influenced my direction for a while.

I see you still have your site going . . . looks pretty good.

Unfortunately little time to do anything with the web :

Most of my school work is done , a few things to tidy up , maybe stuff needing submitting on the work tracking system ..

Next week Im free ...

Incredible reference Foy! Thanks so much for all the time you put into this. Frontpage’d and Sticky’d.
