All of my deck furniture is tied together. I have a giant pile of furniture moving around my deck for the last 3 hours. Power is on, cable/inet is out. On iPad over wireless hotspot via blackberry.
I sure hope the wind stops soon or I don’t think we’ll have much siding left on the house.
+1 on thee prayers! I have some large limbs down in the back yard but still have power and Internet. Wind is bad and its raining but the really hard rain still hasn't hit yet.
Rode it out so far here in Ephrata, Pennsylvania (Near Lancaster), Had to stay up in shifts all night in case we needed to fire up generator, but power has stayed.
Quite a few homes in my township without power, next door neighbor lost a pretty good sized tree.
I have not ventured out yet to see surrounding area.
For being where the eye passed very near us, I feel Blessed.
Thanks for the prayers and continue to pray for those hardest hit in NY.
Keith
I hope as many people as possible make it thru okay. On youtube the video says it’s The initial explosion at the Con Ed Plant, E14th and FDR in New York City.
I have been trying to stay out of this but Im gonna side with Speedsix, what is the point of "praying" to someone who creates things that kill thousands. I mean seriously you think that the chinese (most people are paranoid about them) are attacking us through the weather? Then how are they supposed to get a return on their investment?
Well, we survived fairly well off here in my neck of the woods. Some large tree branches down in the back yard and, up front, both cars have some pretty bad scratches form the neighbor's asphalt shingles blowing loose and slamming into the sides of the cars from the wind. No house damage and we never lost electricity or power although our friends in the area lost their electric. One couple payed us a visit for some breakfast and hot coffee. Once the rain stops and things dry up a little the fun stuff (cleanup) can begin.
Thankfully no damage to my property or house. Some of my neighbors weren't so lucky. Trees down on houses. My next door neighbor's rolled roof blew off. What a mess! The whole neighborhood has no power. Luckily I have a generator and street gas for cooking and hot water. The whole experience was scary as hell!
