Only been buying lights for 5 months....

So iv only been into this for 5 months and the only reason was the dog walking at night, heres a list of what i have at the minute.

AAA——Led lenser p3
Led lenser p7… now sold…… (it was pants)

AA/14500——Sipik sk68 x2

Xtar wk26…. My current work edc

16340——Trustfire mini-01

18650——-
MXDL SA-16
Keygos ke-5
Nightfighter f30c
Olight M3x

New Batch Skyray King in black…… On the way (please hurry up!)

So what am i missing???
I wouldnt mind a thrower that can out do the m3x but id want to see a very noticable improvement on throw, is there anything around that doesn’t cost the eaarth to buy???

Or should i just stop buying for now and be happy with what i have??
I think my most recent purchase of the SRK should impress me, its my first multi emmiter light, iv never seen 2000+ lumens in the flesh!!!

Any thoughts on this???

Ady

As if that could ever happen! :P

How the mini 01? Looks like a great little light…

Yeah its ok, puts out loads of light for its tiny size…. iv hardly used mine as it gets hot quite quick and for an edc i sometimes need a light on quite bright for half an hour or so at a time.
For the money its well worth buying just for the wow factor id say

Lol, i think iv been quite sensible with my purchases upto now, iv tried to get what people on here says is the best, just now i honestly cant see what i would need to purchase next!!!
I think to beat the m3x id need so spend a few quid to get the result id want

And therein lies the problem. :stuck_out_tongue:

Very true. :)

If you want a good thrower then the X6 is a pretty good thrower if de-domed and an upgraded driver.

Thats denile, feel the force, listen to the voices,Otherwise your making excuses to yourself for not buying a MONSTER THROWER.Regardless of cost, you will have to buy one.Youve most ,if not all other bases covered.Apart from a MONSTER THROWER.Just do it,dont waste anymore time buying sensible stuff that does a job.Get the Master Card out and buy a BIG MONSTER THROWER,get it done,do it now,you know you want to,just do it.
Now,to answer your question Ady.

DON…

Lol, that is rather amusing…. im thinking anything i get now to beat my thrower is going to be a severe case of the “wallet rape” variety!! I do quite like the look of the sr95ut but my wallet does not!!! haha

you could try out an hd2010 for about $30… i love mine

ady, I've gotten to the point in this obsession hobby where I don't truly need anything anymore. Now I just enjoy the forum, learn new things and when something speaks to me, more often then not I'll buy it. Now it's more for the enjoyment of something well designed or with a new feature or whatever. Lately it's been true EDC lights in AA or AAA size, but not always. For some reason the ZY-T08 was one of those lights that spoke to me - but I have no need for it. Fortunately it didn't cost too much. Smile

What do you feel you need? Better, want?

Fauxton for key rings?

Colored light?

18650 aspheric/FTT?

Bigger reflector?

HID?

Or just spend $20 more and get the BTU shocker (Assuming the X6 is $130).
X6 stock driver: 1350 lumens, 45kcd
X6 stock driver, dedomed: 860 lumens, 82kcd

Now I don’t have the BTU shocker, but it’s easy to estimate the brightness. 3 XMLs U2 at 3.8amps produces 1100 lumens IN IDEAL CONDITIONS. So since they’re not in an ideal condition, we’ll lower each xml to 1000 lumens (I’ll actually measure it though when I get mine).
So this is an estimated 3000 lumens (Keep in mind the TK70 drives its LEDs at 2.5A).

Now to estimate the candelas, it has the same head as the TK70, and while I couldn’t find any real measurements, I found HKJs review which said it had slightly more throw than the Olight SR90. The Olight SR90 has 113kcd according to selfbuilt’s review, so therefore to have a slightly distinguishable difference, we’ll say the TK70 has 120kcd. The BTU shocker drives at 3.8A (11.4Atotal), the TK70 drives at 2.5A(7.5Atotal). I’m sure the BTU shocker will have over 120kcd.

Conclusion: The BTU shocker is way better for the price, and isn’t as long, although it nearly as heavy as an EMPTY BTU shocker weighs in at 1.2Kg, hopefully it really helps to dissipate the heat of the heavily driven LEDs.
