i wanted the regulated board for longevity reasons.
did you see the thin aluminum disc that the LED’s are mounted to that only contacts the outside of the light via a few threads and a small ledge? thats why i started a thread about getting a custom slug of brass to mount the LED’s to rather than the thin AL thats in there now.
yeah the simple driver is a beast with good wiring, good batteries and cleaned up connections. i definitely will keep it around. but for a light i want to really last and use for significant periods of time on high… yeah not so much.
the low mode has PWM, if you applied 75% duty cycle to a high mode (and left direct drive as “turbo”) youd have PWM in your new “high” mode unless all the components are compatible with a high PWM frequency program on a ATTiny mcu.

OK, on the custom logo do you just put the logo in the comments section when paying with paypal? Is the custom logo lettering or symbols? If letters, how many spaces can be used? Where is the custom logo placed on the flashlight?

Good luck with that! I posted the same request and was totally ignored by RIC. I ended up getting a light with NO logo whatsoever. That’s not a deal breaker, but that’s not what I ordered and paid for.
Also, I tried to email Ric directly in advance of the light being shipped out and all of my emails were returned as “undeliverable.” Ric never responded to me. I admit it sticks in my craw a little bit….
The Apex driver? If you PM Ric from CNQ he should set you up with one… I purchased
the driver as an upgrade.
Same deal with mine, it arrived in Canada on the 15th and is now in customs. Only thing is that it’s in customs in Vancouver and I’m in Halifax and Canada is really really wide.
Canadian customs is also not renowned for their speed, we’ll see if it gets here this week _.
I got letters put on another light. There is an add on for etching. $2 I believe, I emailed them and told them what I wanted and where and it was done right. Ric said that if it is a lot of letters it is just smaller print. I think for logos you have to send them the file of the picture you want added.
Thanks. I own both SRK and the Apex, my Apex appears to be the winner here. Gonna replace it with the Apex driver.
Oh worth to mention, this upgrade gives you a Hi-med-lo modes on a SRK! 
Recieved mine, and i can confirm it has the old good driver in it :bigsmile: ……and this was from the new batch of black kings.

Well, I am disappointed.
I waited almost a month for my Black SRK to arrive from CN (Ric) and finally got it today.

RIC assured me it was an excellent batch directly from the original Sky Ray factory.
All that arrived was a flashlight, no logo, no lanyard, no receipt, no box.
Extremely disappointed to say the least. As it has no logo, it’s obviously a replica, not what I paid for.
Should I be seeking a refund? Is this what others have recieved from RIC from CN?
