For good reviewers

DX wants to expand , Grow , increase sales ..

One way of doing such is to send out products for review ....

If say over 3 months , some 5000 people are exposed to one product , that might only equate to a small increase in the sale of that product , but DX just might get some 5000 future shoppers buying other products .. + The review over time will continue to expose people to the product and DX ...

The short and the long of it , is there is no real downside for DX from doing this .

If sending out $100 worth of product every month for review , may equate to several thousands in increased sales . [ Not necessarily for the product reviewed ]

I hope some of you guys are able to get in on the review. I trust you folks more than other review sites I've seen...

I only trust the reviews that I faked myself!

Just kidding.

LOL!

I have yet to read a review on BLF that would make me suspicious about the objectivity of the reviewer. Star rating is pretty subjective, the writing however always show genuine objective feelings about the reviewed item.

Hmmm, you think so? I personally didn't think that DX would be that dumb. Despite DealExtreme's many faults, thus far paid shilling has not been one of them. That's the only reason that I haven't yet slapped the "AVOID" label on their rating page. But you might be right. At any rate, if they select any one of us here at BLF, I'm confident that we will give an objective review with constructive criticism, and if they don't like that then they can just remove us from their list.

Exactly. And I hope it won't be meant for shilling. The other possibility is they want reviews on a lot of their non-flashlight products that they are selling now. It's just ridiculous how many trinkets and crap they sell and it may be they are trying to generate reviews on that stuff in order to boost sales. The flashlights tend to accumulate reviews pretty quickly already. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic. I'd like to be an optimist, I just don't think I'd be very good at it.

Has anyone heard back from dealextreme?

Nope. So much for not letting DX wait. :P

Not a word.

DX don't mind their customers waiting though....

They removed my comment ! [ DX , why dont they like free speech ? ] MAybe cos I mentioned Jayki they removed my post .... Guess that means Im out !

You got fired before you got hired!

I haven't heard anything either. I bet they aren't looking for flashlight reviewers.

Lots of products on DX , but they would want some one who at least has some exp writting reviews ..

I think its a lot of wind , but you never know .

It seems DX needs some and offers free samples.

I think this is so interesting and we can all have a try, but i bet they are looking for flashlight reviewers. Maybe Dinodirect will hire such kinds of reviewer too later.

I think your reviews about the activities of DX are accurate and from this we can get the message that how DX acuire the future customers. But at the same time. we-customers also get a lot from it. so it is a win-win.

I did get a reply from DX, but I would describe things as pending... they want to discuss stuff over skype (which I do not use), I'm waiting to hear further back from them. I guess it was good timing, I was doing a write up for some dealextreme headphone cable wrap anyway.

Skype has text messeging ... Bit like all the other Text messeging software out there for real time talk over the net .

Anyone else actually got a reply from DX?

I sent them links to around 50 reviews, most, but not all of them favourable. And have had no reply.

Which makes me suspect they want shills.

Or do not want reviewers of their lights. They are now treating lights as a sideline instead of the focus of their business which it used to be.

Hazna has his own blogspot, maybe they want bloggers rather than forum reviews.

Well, I did hear back from dealextreme. I had to politely decline their offer... they wanted me to review something that has nothing to do with my readership base.

It's a bit overpriced for what it is as well... pretty disappointing from DX.
