(closed, all sold out) Give me your money: 2nd BLF Light, TrustFire A8

Yeah, you’re being a bit harsh Werner. Although it’s not my preference, I can see the merit in starting in FF mode. In the end it’s a situational consideration, and not everyone is in the same boat in that respect.

+1!

I’ve mentioned it before, but the two most common requests/complaints on these forums is always low is not low enough and high (2-3A) is not high enough. So for the hardcore connoisseur the best light has two modes: one so dim that you have to stare at it to make sure it’s on, another that burns up the LED after some time, and starts on low low low of course so you can stare down the barrel and check that it’s working.

Seriously, hopefully this light can be something suitable for mass consumption and not yet another fetish item. What am I saying, it’s a 26650 cell light that some seem interested in just to have some place to use the other 26650 cell from their two-pack, and not sure if it even includes a 18650 adapter without upcharge.

I have to agree.

First, I was thinking the sequence should be FF-L-M-H but I now think, that it would get most use on the opposite sequence, H-M-L-FF.
I’m pretty sure i would use it as a nightlight or such SOMETIMES but mostly I think I would need H or M.

On AA or AAA EDC’s I find the FF -> sequence pretty fine.
Zebralight does it best, quick access to both

Ahem, I partially resemble that remark  i’ve been interested in an a8 for a while anyway, i’d just prefer a blf eddition one, more so than a light I have no cells for (16340/14500 for example) or a p60 light (absolutely no intrest in ever owning one).

I still feel that memory, ff-l-m-h nw is the way to go. But I’m not so bothered that I would throw my toys out of the pram and not order one if it does not end up like that.

At the moment, reading this thread, I pity Rey more than anything else, he’s doing his best for us, making a rod for his own back, and just seems to be getting told that no matter what he does won’t be right. Just seems pretty ungrateful when most of the time we just take what ever turns up (crap tints, not always the best UI, strobe etc). :~

Amen Brutha! Preach it!

Firefly on these lights isn’t even all that for retaining night vision anyway.

A fauxton with red led (very easy mod) is much better, but never gets mentioned so I doubt the FF is much used anyway but for whatever reason gets voted to come first.

+10

seems High-Med-Low-Moon, with memory wins.

You’re a champion

Please please please verify the memory works. By “works” meaning 1sec to set, like on premium lights. So few budget brands get this simple thing right, including the last mini which still took 10 sec to reset.

Nothing worse than having to cycle through all the mode to get back to the one that was on because you didn’t sit there and wait forever after temporarily turning it off, especially now there are 4 modes.

Thanks Rey!

I’m in for what you decide.

Yeeha! THANK YOU REY!

Hi Rey. That option is good. I’m in for a set. Thanks for the nice arrangement.

Everything else is good as long as the memory works as AHex pointed out.

H-m-L-moonlight and what emitter ?
I’d love a U3 run at 3.5amps or an xpg2 would end up being a thrower with that reflector

Thanks for putting up with all the 'discussion', Rey! Sounds great and can't wait.

I’d love to see the results of said poll… but I do think people have different preferences based on the size/type of light sometimes.

Here: Suppose you wanted to buy a medium small flashlight (about P60 or A8 size), what mode order would you prefer?

Great! Sounds very good indeed.

Please make sure that the memory works reliably: Max 1s time to change mode before the memory is engaged.

And especially: Thank you very much for being so patient and listening our suggestions & concerns. :)
