KEYGOS M10 26650 FLASHLIGHT-Quick and dirty review

So Im just about to dip me toes in the murky waters of 26650s, and was wondering if anyone out there owns and a Keygos M10 and a Intl Outdoor’s Cyclone c88???

Am interested to know how these two flashlights comepare.
I have narrowed selection down to these flashlights. The HD 2010 has just been scratched due to throw not being my primary concern.

My 2nd M10 arrived today. This one only stated “XML” instead of “XML-U2” on the star (see post #134 above). Unfortunately, I couldn’t compare the 2 side-by-side because the switch on the newer one was defective. Found out when I swapped tail-caps and it worked.

Guys can the M10 fit a 18650 cell with an adaptor?

I comes with the required adapter

Thanks for your reply buddy!
Guess buying it from keygos website is my best bet.

I just looked it is 19.99 at their site. I paid 20 something on ebay. It is a very nice light.

BTW if a manufacturer has retailers selling their products, buying direct from the manufacturer will usually mean you are paying full list price. The manufacturer will not want to undercut their retailers. For some reason this time they are discounting it at 19.99. Maybe they are discontinuing it?

I got the Ultrafire version from MF some time ago and it did not come with the adapter, but a 18650 will fit in and work fine, BTDT.

Thanks all can’t beat it at 19.99

I considered buying this light, but then I decided that I didn’t want a gross lie laser etched into the body

I ordered a Keygos M10 XM-L T6 directly from their web site on special for $19.99. It arrived in about 2 weeks. When I took it apart I discovered that the pill was just hanging loose. It screws into place easily enough. Good thing I decided to check before I ran it on high power for a long time. Good thrower. There is a little sharp burr on one edge of the knurled portion in the middle of the light, but other than that looks well made for the price.

I’m just adding this mod link here, making it easier for people who search the light.

Details of how easy it is to add a 17mm driver and new emitter to this light.

Finally found it, anybody has other input on the M10 vs M10a?

Just run it through translator.google.com as it’s in german.
Keygos M10 vs M10a.

M10a seems to have deeper reflector and an U2 where is M10 has shallower reflector and an T6.

There are some internal dimensions as well and stuff, overall quite detailed, pictures seem to be hidden behind registration. Might get them out for you.

Beamshots, reflector comparison, U2 printed MCPCB, and more.

Thanks for the links.

Just point out that the newer M10 may come with U3, according to the translated page:

Hmm, I thought they moded the light and changed the emitter.
Might have to ask there or read more, though the translation… I don’t speak German either. The pictures showed up to me only after I registered there.

I think it was a swap. And that the XM-L U2 mark on the board is just on the board and the emitter is actually T6 and not an U2.

Modding Keygos M10a.
German original.

He did a “dedome”, removed the dome from the emitter itself, you know, the protective “translucent” dome that covers it. And fitted an KD driver 8*7135 2.8A.

Added 9 pictures to the gallery.

Nice pics. Puzzling, though, M10a is less brighter/thrower than M10 despite deeper reflector and possibly with U2. That 7T6 impressively swamps both M10 and M10a. Hope the German page posts some more and clarify these. Thanks again for the links.

It’s all about the XM-L bin used and the driver that feeds it the Amps.
M10a seems tighter yes and also hes this soft spill ring, where as M10 seems like the cree is too far and there is no soft spill ring.

Yes, M10a came with a board that had U2 printed on it, but probably is just T6 from what I read around there.
M10 came with T6 that he swapped for U3 at home.
I could guess that from the German text too, it translates the same.

The thing with 7T6 is it’s not at all comparable to the M10 0:)

Great… tried to ask there and I can’t even see my post, hopefully they won’t filter it out or at least will translate it for me XD

With the reflector pictures you have to keep in mind that the M10 is already moded.
It has U3 vs the probable T6 in M10a, and also the drivers give different Amperage, higher for the M10 with U3.

Tried to ask there if he could do a beamshot with one light and only swap the reflectors.
Hopefully he also knows how to set up the camera and not use the automatic mode.
Then the brightness will be useless anyway.

All in all can’t help but feel that the differences between M10 and M10a are minor. Still my preference is M10a for deeper reflector and the soft spill ring. Thanks for following up.

Same here, plus it depends on the seller if they can even tell the difference XD
Already read somewhere that they received M10 instead of M10a.

I’m now a happy camper waiting for my M10a to arrive.
And some other bits like an AVR programmer, 105c driver, ML-102, 26650 TrustFire 5000(4200)mAh. Total of $45, not bad for a light, 2x battery, charger, custom driver with a programmer for it

See that you had a good Christmas! Please tell us what you get M10/M10a and what T6/U2/U3. Enjoy.

This light is no longer the excellent quality it used to be, here are my list of shortcomings

-the glow in the dark boot has splotches of glow
-the pill is made from some metal i can just cut with an exacto knife, and would be nice if it were a bit thicker
-the driver spring fell off after 2 days (i’m replacing it anyways)
-the glass has the small chip in the corner
-the star is glued on, and has dirt all over the top of the pill, the LED is dirty and slightly scratched as well
-the light overall has a cheap feel, the anodizing aint bad but its not great either.
