Beam Shots

This is my very first attempt at beam shots. All pictures were taken with a 1/4 second shutter speed @ f2.8. The cactus in the corner is 55 feet away and its 9:00 pm here in Las Vegas in my back yard with a day or two past half moon shining directly overhead.

First up, the control shot:

Inova XO (the old TIR lens version)

4Sevens Quark AA2 tactical (XP-G R5)

Led Lenser P14 focused to throw

Solarforce Skyline I with primaries

Surefire 6P with Solarforce P7 drop-in and 2 Eveready CR123s

Solarforce L2P with Solarforce XM-L drop-in and 1 18650 battery

There you have it; beam shots as promised. I have a new respect for people like Don who make this look easy. I hope to get better with time.

Excellent shots!! I am not the most experienced flashaholic/beam shot enthusiast by a long shot, but to me those look great.

Damn, that wall is ugly. Never really noticed until I posted for all the world to see.

looks like a nice pool though 'nicepoolfoy'

I'll be in vegas first week of June. Vegas doesn't strike me as the first place i'll need a flashlight though (at least where I'll be staying). In fact, I am sure its probably 'lumen capital of the world' or darn close lol.

Excellent beamshots Foy!

Nice pool there Foy!

I wish it were!

Keeping track of which picture is which is a monumental PITA. I'm still trying to establish a "one size fits all" exposure - the problem is that the outputs of LEDs have risen dramatically in the last year or so and it is quite hard to compare the newer stuff with the older stuff.

Your backyard is a lot nicer than mine! A swimming pool in mine would have icebergs for about a third of the year. :)

Thanks for the beam shots Foy...I love it...is that lime coming out from your wall? It looks like it's been graffitied.

My wall looks like that because the back neighbor waters his trees and the sprinklers spray the base of the wall on his side. Over the years it has deteriorated the blocks. Unlike my other neighbors, they don't seem very friendly so, I'm planning a wall-fall-down party for oh, let's say the spring of 2020. You're all invited - bring trowels.

Great beamshots!

I recently learned how much work it is to take good beamshots and you certainly did a good job. Keep it up!

Nice work, thanks
