That JM photoshop pic made me break out laughing! Finally I can get a close look at the headlamp (instead of squinting at it in the tiny picture) and that is one doozey of a headlamp.
Every woman secretly rejoices when her man brings home another flashlight. They just don’t want us to know it otherwise they wouldn’t be able to use it against us should the opportunity arise.
Strangely enough, we just got chatting about lights and the debilitating effect of strobe with a bright light (obviously had to whip out the edc, change the modes then demonstrate what I mean, I love this thing). After I explained, she remarked that she should have a small, powerful light with strobe to drop in her bag when going out for protection/emergency.
So now I need to hunt round for an 18650 edc with a UI where you just hols the button on to get strobe, a rook of protected Panasonics (because I’ve found my current cells protection circuit’s don’t like more than 2a) and it must have at least a u2 xm-l well driven.
I may have to buy a few lights, in the spirit of investigation…. 8)
Now that’s how you turn things around to your favor! How about getting her a Padme? 3xAA with magnetic control ring and strobe mode just a quick spin away. Or she could leave it on strobe and just activate it in an instant with the momentary forward clicky in the tail. If she decides she doesn’t like I guess you’d just have to suck it up and keep for your own use until you find the right light for her.
You beat me to the edit, see above. She carries a decent size bag (two kids worth of nappies/wipes size) but I want something about 130mm or less on one 18650 with a tactical strobe. The shadow gf2 really seems to fit the bill, plus don kidik has one and I was very very impressed with it, if that’s grade two, I really want to see grade 1 quality!
