Yeah, PSY is very popular. He doesnt really understand why Gangnam Style became so famous because its the same he's been doing for years and on the last 5 albums or so.
Two-hit wonder perhaps ? "2legit2quit" was not close to having the level of commercial success that "U can't touch this" enjoyed, nor did it have the same cultural impact.
PSY may be big in Korea, but has exactly ONE hit seller in the Western world. I wish him well, but doubt he can recapture similar sales numbers.

Yet 2legit2quit was the song they mixed it with. Is your logic that because he didn't have a bunch of #1 singles, that he's a one hit wonder? Nevermind that he had quite a few songs that still did quite well and sold 50 million albums. He was remembered well enough that he was remembered well enough over two decades later to do this event. You have a very high bar for success. Does Britney Spears make your cut? She has 4 #1 singles. Britney sold 100 million albums.

This song is only viral because people think its cheesy and funny. Its a goofy ass song with goofy ass dancing. Most listeners are laughing at, not with. I’m not saying that is bad or wrong or racist or some crap. I could give a shit.
This is not quality music that people will listen to intently decades from now to capture the feeling it once gave them. It’s disposable. It’s basically the Korean “Barbie Girl”. Stupid and annoying. Pretty sad it is as big as it is really. People are idiots.
I don’t get why it’s so popular. Well, I understand how people cling on to fads, but even this surprises me a little.
And it’s not even just the USA! Europe is in love with it, too
