Interested in the next BLF/Manafont custom light?

Hmm I was thinking of using 2x CR2032 for my triple XM-L, at least it wont get hot with the short runtime so we can save a little money on not needing a host with a big heatsink..

Hi guys,

Thanks for your patience! A custom flashlight project is fun, but fast it is not. :) Manafont is still working diligently to contact Farka/Xeno. But Jim @ Manafont informed me yesterday that Farka/Xeno seems to be balking a bit at the idea of customizing the E09.

I'll keep you updated.

Cheers!

sweet where can i get one from??????

It has to do my homework for me...

Haha, they don't want us making the Farka E09 Frankenstein edition?

Farka E09 host? So it will be a TIR optic again?

Yes! I love TIR's too!

noob here. if the things i said don't make sense, please forgive me.

here is my 2 cents. if this is gonna be a BLF custom light, how about we try something truely unique. something that hasn't been done by other brands.

i am thinking MCE-RGB using AA/14500. with infinite variable output and extra low mode. is it even possible? if it is, i think it would be cool. i am willing to pay ~$30 for it. is such a flashlight available already?

Aloha and welcome to BLF josith!

hello there, im excited about this so ill definately buy it. just want some updates. thx

Great idea, especially if it has a decent low mode for the red/green so it serves it's purpose. Out of my realm, but I bet the circuit would be quite complicated for a budget light.

Any news?

Still no news at the moment. Sorry, the manufacturers are not very cooperative...

We should make a flashlight that is versatile and not yet available.. there are so many lights that we see but what we want and dont see is what we should go after. Please dont make it in AA .. Most versatile runtime is 18650. and there is no xooming in XML.

so, I wish and Vote for

Battery 18650 (if not then 2*AA)

Emmiter - XML

Mode - 3 (hi-med-low)

Zooming Flashlight.

You might ignore this because majorty people might like different one, but I just wanted to post my view.

and even if you guys go for AA .. go for 2*AA not one AA its just not bright enough.

Regards

I still would be interested in:

Single 18650

R4 neutral

Variable output with memory

Compact size

HA anodized

Under 25usd preferably

STAINLESS STEEL

XML ( I know tint is controlled by Binning but wonder if there was any possible way they can incorporate multiple tints{maybe a question for CREE} in one LED. MODE 1-neutral white HML, MODE 2 cooler HML, MODE 3 coolest HML and maybe warm white for those who like it)

18650

a user friendly QTC module/sandwich

self regeneragting circuitry like used on rc car electronic speed controls. but i guess if someone can come up with this it wouldnt be budget and it wont be edc capable.

zooming with tir optics.

I want one of those too - but can't see it being within my budget. It'd need sophisticated heat management so it wouldn't cook the LED or driver - which also means it wouldn't be as flat-out bright as some. But I'd still want one.

Lots of good idea, I'd buy it if it comes in around $25.

Food for thought for your next project;

The light I would covet would be a "sleeper" flashlight. Something that looks like a regular household 2 "D" cell worklight or camplight (or even a Maglite) that runs an XP-G or XM-L emitter for more than an hour. I like the form factor of the P-60, but I also want something that looks normal to non-flash-a-holics, but performs like nothing they have ever seen. Maybe something the size of an MG Thrower that looks like it runs on D cells (or better yet, does run on D cells). I know the P-60 host is sort of standardized, but would like to see something bigger.

Oh, and I want to call it he Midnight Special, as in "Let the Midnight Special, Shine a light on me".

Did anything ever come of this?

Jim over at manafont arranged to have some custom-made Tank007 lights built for us instead.
