26650/4AAA Keygos M10 Clone on Ebay

I just stumbled on this Keygos M10 clone (looks to me anyway, although they made it a zoom) on Ebay which states it also runs on AAA's. XM-L, 5 mode, for $16.11.

Might be worthy for it's 4AAA ability. Could be a better alternative to the Poppas W-878 (which I have). Anyone want to try it?

Definite m10 clone, shame about the zoom or I’d buy it in a heart beat. I should try the ultraok 4aaa carrier in the m10, that’d make it real good bug out bag light, particularly with a kd 2.2a moon low driver.

Pity. Although I’ll give the battery carrier a try, I’m sure it’ll fit as keygos 26650 cells are fatter than king Kong’s. that said, keygos cells will only give 2.7a max (i tested this morning on a freshly charged cell)
I guess near 4a is a bit much for 4aaa though? Plus I won’t switch on, 6v is probably too much for the driver, what about 3aaa holders? Any links to half decent quality ones?

I'm wondering if they are just using the same ol' drivers and throwing in a 4AAA carrier. In other words, 4AAA's could work fine in your M10 or many other lights.

EDIT - I thought of you first Gords when I saw this!

more like a cross between m10 and m12

I’ll stick w/ my M12s, since it looks like this one has smaller lens and narrower neck (where the pill must be).

I could try the give away light, the drivers coming out anyway……

Thanks for the thought, I’m just not a flood to throw kind of guy, give me a reflector any day 8)

Ok, 4aaa nimh (1.2v charged, probably lower now) it fired up and ran, still good output. I’ll play another time, when I have my meter inside, its –2/-3 degrees c here now and I’m not feeling heading out to the van, but certainly 4 nearly full nimh cells allowed it to turn on. Cool, I have alkalines so before I pull the driver and led i’ll do some more scientific testing, but I would guess the stock output was not compromised, although runtime more than likely would be.

If it works, it would be a hellish usefull bug out bag light, particularly with the 4aaa holder, a couple of decent 26650 cells and a 12v/solar charger.

Slightly different, but $8.88.
