How did they manage to do it? [DinoDirect]

Prices AFTER 60%-90% discount are outrageous...

The same way they do shoes/clothing sales in my country.

Ordinary price 50€ before the discount season.

Firesale price 99€ with huge 40% discount totalling 59€ and they sell. I know someone who bought a pair of shoes that way and very happy that have saved 40% off. What a bargain!

Those who know prices well argue at the counter and get another 20% off and that is then considered a decent saving if anything. Then walking the same street you found the item for 5€ cheaper in another store without the need of arguing about.

Very common practice and nothing new.

We conscious budget oriented flashaholics already know where to shop for a paricular flashlight. Other's simply don't.

I for one find possibly anything i need at MF, KD, and even Tinydeal lately. LT was a disappointment and DX was actually often very slow. neverbuying was "soapy".

For other deals i find ebay also a reasonable choice. There is a "new" player in town http://www.szwholesale.com who wishes to expose i'ts presence on the market which is a good thing. Huge selection of flashlights!

A friend from a shop reccomended them once by saying: They have a huge selection and did not yet sent me any junk.

Many of you already bought something off them i suggest opening a dealer rating for them also.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic...

Oh, and about szwholesale...

Sub-Total: $15.55
You might want to order $184.45 more to get the Free Express Shipping!

LOL

It is express shipping however. Dx charges you about 33usd for that and if you get lucky you have it 2 days later than classic airmail... :/

Not long ago someone bought 200+ usd of goods from dx with express shipping. Got it in 2 months. Way too bad luck.

And a bonus in Israel - you pay 10$ more just to get it from the post office, and double bonus is a closer inspection by the customs... not to mention shipping costs are sometimes added to the goods declared value, so better chance to pay customs (30% if they decide only customs tax, otherwise add 16% VAT; some goods are only charged VAT, though). And if you pay customs tax you have to pay some 20$-30$ extra customs handling fees.

No thanks.

I hear ya. If my customs gets involved i can alraeady put aside 14-20€ to throw away for the same reasons.

Our import duty limits have just dropped - from Wednesday it is £15 down from £18. One penny over that and you have to pay the £8 or £13 PO ransom charge. Customs won't bother collecting the VAT if it is only a few pennies, but the PO certainly will collect theirs. The carriers are way worse, the cheapest of them charged £25, ten years ago. Express shipping is going to cost me serious money so I don't bother with it.

Our laws on "sales" are confusing - but basically that sort of price jacking so you can claim a "sale" is not permitted. So they just have everyday high prices instead.
