As far as i know, the 9A driver might require the voltage of 2 cells to operate. Hopefully we will find out more over the next few days.
A 9A version on 1 cell would be a pocket rocket 
But i’m not sure if its possible, and wouldn’t suit a lot of cells.

Yep, I agree. IMHO, if you’d be able to resist the temptation to use it on high mode, one cell should be able to handle any of the lower settings.

Like most, 1S will output is 75% requiring a 2nd for 100%..

Yeah, that sounds about right. 75% in 1 cell and 100% on 2 cells. I’d be happy with that.
