Is it possible to mark a thread as "ignore"?

Not dissing anyone, but sometimes there's a popular thread about knives or something that I'm not interested in, and I don't want to keep seeing it pop up to the top of the list when someone adds a reply to it. Is there a way to click "ignore" at the thread level?

I'm afraid there is none. If that's the only one that bothers you it should be easy to skip. Would understand if there were many...

Is there any way posts from certain members can be blocked so that they don't show up in the threads? It would be a useful feature to avoid conflicts.

If you "Block users" in the Messages section, does that only work for private messages or does it apply to posts as well?

I messaged a question to sb56637 about this but he never replied. (Maybe he blocked me.)

In http://budgetlightforum.cz.cc/node/438 sb56637 said "It looks like there is a possible module that does this: http://drupal.org/project/ignore_user Maybe I'll give it a try a bit later on." Did anything come of this?

Actually there are many. What I usually do is read the stuff I'm interested in, and then click the "Mark everything as read" button. But when I come back to BLF a day later, there are usually about 3 pages of threads that contain new posts. It would be nice if I could mark threads as "ignore", so that I only see maybe 1 page of threads with new posts. But it's not a big deal.

I believe we all have this problem. The thread you're interested in gets buried by a few pages. Many time iv'e used the mark all as read to find out later i missed a few nice threads. I just visti BLF often. Very impratical but works.

A personalised starting page would be perfect, where one could mark the sub-categories in which one is interested in.

Lets say peteybaby isn't interested in "Forums » Miscellaneous » Gear for Flashlight Carriers" and "Home » Forums » LED Flashlights Multiple AA / 14500 Flashlights"

, but likes "Home » Forums » LED Flashlights 1 x AA / 1 x 14500 Flashlights" & "Home » Forums » LED Flashlights 18650 Flashlights". If it were possible in Drupal to check or uncheck categories in a checklist everybody could at least roughly mark what is diplayed on the starting page. If you don't own any 18650 batteries you might not be interested in 18650 lights. I have no idea if that is doable, or if Drupal even has these options... just thinking out loud.

And sorry for the frequent knives updates peteybaby. Just just buy a SanRenMu 710 and you won't find them so annoying anymore. ;-)

Alternatively you can watch posts that you want to follow, and just look for new ones on the front page.

Or you could selectively kill off members.

It doesn't bother me I see it as interesting to see what people are into ..if it's knives or multi tools or something else I'm not interested in ...bully for them !!! If we all had the same interests I'd be very very scared ... .Plus I'd miss interesting threads like that 600$ Turtle . or budgeteers don't pick up the soap picture ...

I would only mark them as "ignore" AFTER I see them. :) (if I could)

LMAO! Have you started a list yet?

(crap...Boaz knows where I live now...)

Lol, but for that you need what?... exactly, a good knife!...so you need some knife reviews to get rid of these annoying knife reviews.

BTW I mainly kill cardboard, food and wood with my knives .... ;-)

Note to self: Do not piss off Boaz!!!

Step away for just a moment and look waht happens , now I know how Don feels all day ...
