LED close-ups.

Fixed the file damaged pics. (why does it do that?)

While I was taking some update pics of the Palight I decided to try some of a few emitters. It was late in my dining room and all I had was available lighting. The price for low light compensation this evening is graniness. Maybe I'll try this during the daytime to see if I can't get the quality up a little.

First up is an XM-L on the left (Ultrafire/Manafont) and an XR-E on the right. (as found in a Skyline I)

Then, a couple more XR-Es; Led Leser P14.

XR-E in a LL P17.

This is the XP-G in the Palight.

Finally, an SSC P7. (from Solarforce)

Ultra Fire 3-mode XM-L (T6) received 4-18-11.

Close-up of same emitter.

Another.

Recieved my MCE and XR-E drop-ins today so, thought I'd update the close-up thread.

These next few are the MCE. This is a 3-mode 4.2 volt P60 drop-in from Manafont.

And here's the XR-E. It's a 3-mode 3.7 - 4.2 volt from Manafont also. (much less interesting)

Luxeon 3

Nite-Ize Mag LED upgrade. (I think)

This is a Luxeon rebel TFFC. (Thin Film Flip Chip)

Nice pics Foy, and good work on the leather. I used to do a bit of that a long, long time ago.... that pic is inspiring me to start back up

The P7 is pretty cool looking. It has been really difficult for me to get a good picture of a XM-L. The dome seems to always catch a reflection or make the die blurry.

Very nice Foy! Thanks for this. I'm actually going to make it sticky, because I always need a reference to try to figure out by eye what type of LED is inside a new flashlight.

Do you think you could separate the first and second pictures of the XM-L and the XP-E? I think you must have used a larger monitor than me, because I see them vertically aligned. Maybe you could just align them all vertically with a caption/description above each picture? Just a suggestion. Thanks!

I moved them vertical. I'm on a 27 inch LCD but I'll keep it narrow in the future.

Thank you sir! Looks great.

Theres a thread on CPF with pictures, http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?270419

Man, those make my sad pictures look stupid. I still think I can get it right with the right lighting.

Actually your pictures are very good. Foy

+1

I especially liked the pic of the P7.

That was very helpful. I got two dropins today, and one was unlabeled. I've ordered so much stuff lately and it has taken so long to get here, I wasn't sure what the unlabeled one was. By your images, must be the XPG, and it has a SMO reflector.

If you ever need to quickly look up something about an LED or to find out what it is, the flashlight-wiki is very useful :)

Who do I poke for a kick back for advertising? :P

thanks its looks clear.so we have more choose it.

Those pictures are Do great! Just keep doing.

Great help! Especially for flashlights without labels about what type of light they use. Thanks Foy!

There are not pics, are they deleted? I want to have a look

I can see the pictures. Maybe flickr is blocked for you?

Great Macro shots. Exquisite.

Ron
