Wont be long at this rate...I remember it was something like 300+ when I joined 2+ months ago

Well thanks and congratulations to our hundreds of users! You are all making BLF into a really enjoyable and informative resource. I was really surprised the other day when I was researching a few flashlight models.... BLF consistently turned up the best information on Google. Pretty much any new model or any obscure flashlight or battery product is ALL here thanks to our diverse user base. Quite impressive for barely 1 year. Thanks again guys!

Ive been lurking here a while before i joined because every google search i did always pointed me to BLF and there really is a lot of info in here. Thanks!!!

>) I guess we will soon know who the anti-christ is..forgive me if I don't welcome him to BLF.

Haha and so it begins! :)

Way to go, BLF!

We love to see BLF hitting 1000 soon!

I suspect manafont promotions really helped alot pulling unregistered readers to join officially. :)

After those promotions were annouced i noticed a high spike of new: Hi all, im from...

Lalala.... I started here because of the LightTake promo a couple months ago... Yay for more than 200 posts so far!

It was a Manafont promo that got me to join - but I stayed because I really like the atmosphere here.

Wasn't promos got me to join, just the very friendly banter, excellent technical articles, knowledge sharing, and total lack of the stupid snobbery displayed elsewhere on cheap lights that are just as good if not better than brands costing 200x! Don't contribute much, but thoroughly enjoy reading.... & more importantly, learning.

Yes - this place has always been friendly and helpful. And generally a fun place to hang out.

I suggest: when we shop at Manafont and the other many online retailers, we start writing in the "Special Instructions" field at check-out, "BudgetLightForum member" or "BLF member", so these retailers know when we're shopping at their website. When that happens, it's likely we'll get better service, kind of like a "union", and probably more promotions, than we already enjoy.

I calculate if the average user spends $50 a year on stuff (probably a low figure!), that's over $33,000 worth of merchandise that we have to decide on where and what to buy. And quickly increasing.

That's a good idea! I'm certainly going to do this from now on..

As long as it is run by you-know-who (someone with a nasty tendency of letting others smell her Highnesses armpits) - I don't really wanna know anyways.

They do exist, and so do we; period. Bright lights don't have to cost a fortune, and in case I wanna spend more dough than I should, I can still do that with bead blasting, spending hours on the lathe, custom hard anodizing and all those lovely gadgets out there, from GITD-lanyards to XM-L T6 dropins, packs of O-rings, overready-switch conversions, stainless bezels, tailcaps, UCL lenses and MUCH more. I guess a budget L2 may turn out more costly than a genuine 6P when you are finished throwing all the custom gadgets at it, and added some personalizing as well.

I really like it here, WAY more than at the "other place" (a.k.a. "the dark side"), although some threads over there have provided me with some good ideas.

It's not the people there, though; it's mostly the way that forum is run (clearly profit focused) and the SS-Nazi moderators and admins over there.

I just like it that a whack-job like me feels accepted enough here to contribute something. I would no more post a review "over there" than fly to the moon. Yet, it is reviews you guys put up that inspire and help me to move forward.

Yes, yes definitely that's how much I spend...anyone who says differently is lying! :P
