Led lenser P7 and P3

I am not sure is it a deal, cause I am not interested in LED Lenser, but maybe for someone...

Actually that's not bad, considering local in-store prices.

A friend of mine has a LL P7; with all its features it is quite impressive. totally focusable, runs on 4xAAA, gold-plated and spring-loaded contacts, three modes (no stoopid strobe!), comes with lanyard and a really nice nylon holster. Not my kind of flashlight though, personally, I prefer fixed focus and have grown accustomed to the modular P60 system.

In Germany, retailers ask slightly less for the P7 alone than what this whole "torch-bundle" offer costs. While it doesn't exactly fit the term "frugal", it offers much more for non-LEO flashlight users for half of what a SureFire (definitely NOT frugal!) costs.

It's the kind of light you'd give to your wife or non-"flashoholic" friends. Bright, useful and operated on safe, cheap and common cells.

I got one from EBay recently, those Led Lenser reports to be possibly fake. I don't know if they are fake but it was a cheap deal I got one T7, $20 on the auction and $10 for shipping. It came up a really quality item even if it could be fake, all the bundle was complete, with holster, box, lanyard and even Led Lenser batteries.

Ok, all in all, it focuses well, has clean output in both ends. Has a simple three state switch and it works as promised. I really liked the fact that it uses four AAA batteries, so that I don't waste buying 8 batteries and using only 6 of them but use them in quads so I get better output and runtime. It is a good allrounder even for a non Lithium allrounder. It doesn't give that portability of a L2 or 502B but still has clean, smooth edges so friendly to other stuff it contacts with in a bag.

I hope one can compare a genuine Led Lenser and one from a HK seller. The price difference is just too big.

Coast is supposedly coming out with a new updated line with no price increases between now and June. Maybe they are getting rid of stock.

I own a couple of Led Lensers (P14, P17) and they are well made, powerful torches. They are a great for people that don't care about flashlights who need a "flashlight," don't mind spending $80 (at least for the P14/17) and are not bothered by carrying something the size of a billy club and weighs twice as much.

I would however, like very much to figure out a way to mount an XM-L in my P17 and drive that bad boy hard.

With a 3D set-up, that sounds realistic. I've never taken one apart, so I can't give you any specifics, but my guess would be a beefed up copper pill to handle the thermals, a 2.8a to 3.4a driver, and then use 3 D nimh's. It may need a small mod to the lens to retain the flood to throw feature.

Or you could just send it to me.

I would absolutely love to send you my P17. Problem is, I have (I anticipate) a rather expensive speeding ticket to pay. I've seen some of your work and a souped up P17 would be . . .

No, no, no. I can't do this. I must not do this.

(sigh) PM on the way.
