Shadow SC600 vs UF-T50 -- Winners Announced -- The Lights Are Done!!!!!!!

You know you really are a nut case, don’t you.

I think you should have done all of these tests while holding the two lights.Tongue Out

The tests so far would kill the average human being, so if the flashlight owner is dead, who cares about the light itself? LOL.

I just got to play wid ya a little bit. Time to go clean up the O-L workshop and prepare for for the incoming patients. Let's see, I will need two hospital beds, plenty of bandages, some more pills (for me).Laughing

I’ll vote for the zebralight.

I own an SC600W. Seems to be a very sturdy light except I think the switch may be a weak point.

Edit: sorry, looks like I didn’t join the forum soon enough. Still interested in the outcome of this though.

the rest… yeah, kind of crazy lol

eagerly awaiting results

Welcome to BLF! You’re not too late at all. In fact you’re the last entrant because it looks like everyone who wants to enter has, so am closing this now to post results.

Giveaway closed.

Now for the results of the tests.

The SC600 prevails.

Yikes, I missed by 3 minutes, I should have wrote faster.

Will let you in because haven’t posted results yet. But you’re absolutely the last.

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Overnight in a snowbank at an undisclosed location:

What next? How about an hour in the basement sump?:

Filthy in that sump so time for wash cycle #1:

And wash cycle #2, also on Super Wash setting:

Now into the dryer:

Not completely dry so maybe an hour in the oven will help:

The snowbank did nothing last night so let’s put them in the freezer tonight. Set both lights as low as I could:

Defrosting:

After defrosting (both lights are still set as low as I could get them last night):

Now that they’re defrosted, let’s boil them with eggs for breakfast:

Both are still working although the UF-T50’s a little dim:

Let’s bake them again! At least that will dry out the UF-T50:

They seem to be doing better. Let’s see what scaru has in store for them!

I’m sure you enjoyed doing that. Admit it!

that ice test might be a different story if you did the boil test first and just threw the pot in the freezer J)

Wow! Is it a trick of light or is a bit of the chrome missing from the reflector of the T50 in this pic? Obviously the T50 is not as waterproof as the SC600. Not a big shocker there. Nice work, BTW! >)

Thats some nice testing you done there! Cant even believe either still work! Thanks for the info cant wait for the next stage!

No trick of light; it came off during the boiling.

no surprise the zlt for the win! lol…

Cool results,I am surprised the Ultrafire is still alive!I think use of quality materials will definitely show in the next set of tests, the UF reflector already peeled so I think that's a sign that I picked right. You would think water ingress would have finished it off but it didn't,round 2!!!

I will not say I'm surprised that the ZL held up better so far. I expected it would. The real test will be during the impact and shock trials. I think the heavier and probably softer alloy of the T50 body will give it the edge in the next series of trials.
