Wow! Is it a trick of light or is a bit of the chrome missing from the reflector of the T50 in this pic? Obviously the T50 is not as waterproof as the SC600. Not a big shocker there. Nice work, BTW! >)
Cool results,I am surprised the Ultrafire is still alive!I think use of quality materials will definitely show in the next set of tests, the UF reflector already peeled so I think that's a sign that I picked right. You would think water ingress would have finished it off but it didn't,round 2!!!
I will not say I'm surprised that the ZL held up better so far. I expected it would. The real test will be during the impact and shock trials. I think the heavier and probably softer alloy of the T50 body will give it the edge in the next series of trials.
I thought the oven heat tests might actually affect any of the silicon/rubber gaskets and even melt some. But apparently not. Am I missing something here?
200f is just over 93c. ive noticed that a lot of electronics spec are 90c, but usually can handle more. the gaskets i would think would handle atleast what water boils at, 212f/100c, and probably quite a bit more than that
Wow, 200F but still 93C! I can rem my son having a 104F fever and he was like burning up or was that my paternal instinct? 200F might even dry up some of the lube that was on those threads and gaskets. Those extreme tests on the 2 lights are really pushing them beyond normal usage patterns. This is amazingly like NASA experiments!
yeah, my daughter was just above 103 the other night, and her brother was up over 102 a couple days before that… she felt like she was on fire
those are def some extreme tests… im wondering if there is any light that would stand up to those without the slightest fail… surefire dominator test anyone??? :money_mouth_face:
