Hey guys I just sent a msg to the company and I asked if they had boards for the xpg2 and this is what he said
Board footprint remains same for XPG and XPG2. LED footprint is exactly same. Same PCB you can use for XTE also.

We pretty much knew that.. XPE and XPC would also work.
So available are 20mm boards for XM or XP footprint.
I’ll go for 12 XML and 5 XPG

Does anyone know if different reflow solders have better or worse heat transfer characteristics?
no idea, but I’ve had several people recommend using solder paste as it makes it easier to get reproducible results (same thickness, no excess, etc). No idea personally, but might be worth checking out.

I’m hesitant to say this but you guys are strongly opposed to introducing this GB to the other forum just for the sake of getting more people, right?
I think it would be they would strongly oppose to joining a blf group buy. If you linked this thread over there… I bet it would be gone within 5 mins.

I’m up for 10 of each (XML and XPG) if we get over 300, 20 of each if this goes over 1000.
My original intention (I was going to do a group buy) 
was to add CPF to the list of people in the group buy if we needed the number made up: I see no problem with it… they will just do the same over there regardless (or someone will pop up selling them for more). Nitro you have PM.

I wonder if any LED and parts suppliers would be interested in the group buy (might not work from a business perspective though unless they act as the distributors).
