Received today twisty 4 AG3 ...

http://kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=823

From KD at 1.15 $ received this nice little with a great finish though the emitter was upgrade to an actual 20000 mcd buyed locally, none of these cheap one have one...famous DX's included. This emitter give a lot of more light with bigger spot and nicer tint..

This one is a twisty being the first I have carrying button cells, the other all metal with the keys was purchased in Ebay at .99 $, a nice one too...

Run time , months...

Nice. The last little button cell light like that I had was purchased from BigLots for ~$1. Unfortunately it was pure garbage...felt like it was made out of tin-foil. In fact, after it started acting up I took the batteries out and squished it between my thumb and forefinger (I felt better).

The one you got from KD looks much better though.

Feel solid and is solid ,has a very nice finish despite a few minors scratches. I can't catch the look with the camera..

I got the kaidomain twisty yesterday and it is an awesome little light for the keychain.my wife saw it and said "can I have that?".of course I said no but will order her one for the keychain also..only problem I foresee is the head twisting completely off and getting lost..at least you should notice it coming off though because all the batteries will follow..I have 20000 mcd leds in the mail for a swap, but pretty impressed with it for under 2$..really well built and solid..

All those tiny twisties i had gifted around so far were lost in a matter of days by accidental untwisting. The only one surviving oen was this one and is scary bright. Not so cheap.

2.80? just want to make sure it's the right one, cus I find 2.80 pretty cheap lol..i'll order it and give it a shot..

Yeah , the lost issue happen at first . I been using those kind since many years ago, the one in the first pic with side switch which are worse since are barely threaded .In fact looking for that is how I start my DX's purchases because locally became unavailable.

After a time you are used to check if all ok anytime you catch the keys, problem solved.

The budgeter one look very interesting to try the quantum stuff since the cells are much bigger, too bad my April's budget is currently spent...

I have around a dozen of those LR44 from a laser which die irremediably... more tempting..

yeah I went ahead and ordered one of those budgeteer showed..that and a pack of 10 ag13's (LR44's)..I had 2.50$ in my manafont review/purchase points account and a couple bucks in my paypal so I gave it a whirl..it's a bit bigger, but ok by me..I have big pockets lol

arenat: do you have any before and after 20 000 mcd shots from the kai twisty? and does that rubbery thing holding the led in come out? the stuff at the head that the spring is attached too I mean..

thanks

The thing is pressed , with a blunt/rounded stick push it from the front of the led, I used the handled (?) of a paint brush... sorry if unclear but I don't know the proper words..

Regarding the emitters that's is a tough issue since is very difficult to know for sure what you have and what you get...after I used the 20000 mcd mentioned above tried a 40000 mcd one purchased online expecting small spot , which I got, and too much light , which I don't got....

The supposedly 20000 of which the vendor in the electronic store can't give any detail or origin has a much warmer tint with a lot more brightness than the stock , in the light box twice or more the lux...

nice thanks..figured it was just pressed in there..I have the 20000 ones coming from ebay..they were 1.50 for 10 so if they aren't any brighter i'm not out really any money..

so..installed the ebay leds I received and it is noticibly brighter than the stock led..I tried it vs my zlt h31's low settings and it is easily twice as bright as it's 5 lm setting..it is dimmer than the 24 lm setting but not by much..i'd say 15 lumens or so..for somethign this small and cheap it's a great keychain light! haven't lost the head either yet lol

I hope you don't expect XM-L output. By scary bright i meant it was really surprisingly bright for such a small thing. Great gift for ladies.

great !

Those kind are my favorite ever for keychains , tiny with amazing runtime and enough light most of the time.

You twist the head or the rear side ? mine look enough adjusted if twist only the rear...

I tightened down the head completely and just twist the rear..it feels more solid this way and there are more threads at the back for loosening and not loosing it..I can walk around my house at night and have plenty of light..this thing is great in an emergency situation or otherwise..

lol got ya! I ordered one along with a pack of batteries for it..I have a few keychains so a light on each only makes sense

It is button operated not a twisty if someone got the assumption it is a twisty. That's why no1 has lost it yet. :P Anyway if i mislead someone thinking it was a twisty i sincerely apologize. You don't want a coffee priced twistie anyway.

where is the button? I was looking at it trying to figure out how it turns on and off..

The thing with the hole for the carabiner clip is the switch.

oh..does it come on in the pocket like that?

Only happend once in my wife's bag. One night i went to the toilet and noticed a glowing lady's handbag. It must have been turned on for several hours. But that's my wife keeping all sorts of junk in her bag. It was expected to turn on eventually that way. The light get's its use and i never had to change the batteries yet. The thing is 4 months old or perhaps even more. Have spare batteries but i think those will leak sooner than i will have the need to replace.
