17670 Battery + charger

Hi guys. I’m in need of a 17670 cell (rechargeable and protected) and a cheap decent smart charger. Any idea where to buy? ebay, fasttech, dd (if cant be avoided)

Thanks for help

Wouldn’t 16650 work for you?
If yes, Intl-Outdoor has decent Sanyo UR16650ZT based batteries that are 2100mAh if you charge them to 4.3V, and somewhere around 1800mAh if charged to 4.2V. They’re available in both protected and unprotected versions.

As for charger… ML-102 if you need 1-bay, Xtar WP2 II if you need 2-bay.

I dont know man!! Are they the same size??

16650’s are a tiny-tiny bit thinner, so they will fit into lights more easily.

Great! Checked the sanyo batteries. Looks nice.

Any info on where to get a decent cheap charger?

The protected ones are longer. I just got 2 and they don’t fit my WF 139 charger.

I have had 4 off these chargers. They dont charge at a fast rate but do the job. All four have terminated at 4.18 to 4.2 volts. I highly recommend this charger.

Go with the 16650 Sanyos. I have some lights that are supposed to take 17670, but the AW 17670 I have are too fat, or so snug I worry about expansion. The Sanyos fit in anything and have a larger capacity.

Fine guys. 16650 it is. I need a budget decent charger. Even if it charges only one 16650 cell, Im fine with it.

ML-102 from Intl-Outdoor store.

Erm.

$8.95+ $1.50 spacer+$8.5 power chord…Not so cheap :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks though.
Cant a 18650 charger be used to charge them?

Yes. Any Li-Ion charger will do. If it will charge an 18650, it can charge 16650.

Great if they will work. Will they fit without any spacers?

16650 are the exact same length as 18650.

16mm dia. 65.0mm Length = 16650
18mm dia. 65.0mm Length = 18650

Man this is getting complicated for me :frowning:
I want to use it specifically in the Quark Pro QP2L-X.

As far as I know and based on 4sevens correspondence, 18650 cells DO NOT fit in this flashlight. Would this mean 16650 does not fit also?

EDIT:
Here is 4sevens response…They talk about WIDER….Guess it will fit??

_*Thank you for your interest. The 18650 cell is much to wide for the
body of this light. That said, two RCR123A will work great. Please let
me know if I may be of any further assistance.

I use the Sanyo 16650 exclusively in my Quark Pro QP2L-X. They are the exact same diameter as a CR123 (16340) so they slide right in.

16mm dia 34.0mm Length = 16340

THNKS BRO! Made my day
Last thing, how about this charger? http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10000436/1046800-portable-digital-battery-charger-for-18650-recharg

Quark Pro QP2L-X and Sanyo 16650

I really can’t comment on the charger. It’s a crap shoot when purchasing cheap chargers. I personally believe in buying good chargers with a proven track record. If a charger doesn’t cut off early enough, and overcharges your cell past 4.2v, that’s bad. Bad for the battery, and could lead to worse catastrophic events.

But if you insist, the Sanyo 16650 is one of the few cells that is rated for 4.3v., so you have some leeway.

Great. Is the output on one 16650 as high as 2xcr123 on turbo? What about runtimes?
