I submitted a ticket and received an answer that they had gotten the wrong item from their supplier and I was told that I would get a replacement for the "wrong" battery they sent me. Based on the answers in this thread and the fact that I have no tools for measuring capacity I will assume they are real TrustFires.
I noticed they have two TF 26650 listings. Both appear to be protected; the black ones are slightly cheaper. I ordered the regular flame wrapper ones, as those are the ones people have been talking positively about.
Because of this, I'll avoid Trustfire flame 26650's too. I'm glad we have Kumabear, but the proliferation of fakes in the 26650's is unfortunate for those in other countries.
Pictures hadn’t even crossed my mind, I’ll put some up and I’m going to run another charge/discharge to see if the numbers are better after I’ve fixed my hobby charger.
On the other hand, the normal 18650 2400mAh TF Flame I got from FT really shines.
It got around 2440mAh discharge down to 3V (would reach 2500 going down to 2.7V), and to top it off even maintain higher voltage throughout 1A discharge against unprotected Sanyo 2600 (also from FT).
I received a pair of the black Trustfire 26650s from Fasttech this morning.
Charged them to 4.2v, rested them for an hour, then did a 1A discharge test on one down to 3V on an imax B6.
Final score - exactly 2800mAh. Not very good.
I am just about to order a set of these (well two sets as I need 3) for an Archon D33 (also about to order).
Understand from reading this forum that DX supplied cells, whilst cheaper than Manafront had lower capacity so as not much in it was going to pay the extra few bucks. But then found FastTech at $16 for two - now not sure its worth the extra $10 ($20 totall) buying from Manafront. How are you guyus getting on with FT supplied version?
+1, and I’ve done some testing; the capacity is about the expected 4000mAh. Protection circuit looks OK, as I removed one.
Here’s the exact item I ordered: SKU1076400
