I couldn;t figure out why they had a $33 flashlight with 180 lumens. I still can't really but it's a rechargeable light that comes with the recharger and 18650 battery. It appears to use a TIR optic or an aspheric. It's shaped like a TIR but appears to have no spill.
At first I thought maybe it was a dive light. There were some dive lights made in China that had a similar shape. They show the front of a box with Chinese characters on the front but there is something about 600m. Again, at first I though maybe this is a depth rating until I notice meters rather than feet. It's probably the throw distance (BS but still what else is it)?
I'm posting here just because it's a bit of a novelty for DX not because I think everyone is going to want one.
There is almost no description of the product other than what is listed in the title.
Looking at the most recent offerings, they seem to be trying to move upmarket. If so, I hope they improve the customer service too. And while I'm making a wishlist, it'd be nice if their specs bore any semblance to reality.
Can't say like the look of that one, too garish for me. And not a bargain either.
Yeah, there was a company that market as e-dict or something like that that had an ugly looking dive light similar to that. I think they all flooded, the company didn't stand behind their product and so no dealer would carry them anymore.
There is another nicer looking new light I saw that was $65 or something like that. I think you're right about DX trying to go upscale. I'd never buy an expensive light at DX however. Other than dive lights I wouldn't buy an expensive flashlight from anyone. :)
I like the looks.....my wife seems to like it. And for the price it seems to come with everything, might make a great starter kit for a non-flashoholic.
