Your BLF Avatar

Did you take this picture Xiotis?
Do you live on Santorini?

My Avatar is from the great anime series Ghost in the Shell
It’s the logo of a hacker called Laughing Man who hacks into public media/TV and replaces his face with this animated picture.
The sentence is a quote from the book “The Catcher in the Rye”.

It looks very simple and friendly, but also has a deeper meaning, at least for me, or those who watched the anime.

Hi Philipp,

No i did not take this picture and i do not live exactly in Santorini but…

…I come from another Greek island, not very far from Santorini, we have equally nice sunsets and i could have taken a very similar picture

i like the deeper meaning of your avatar…! :davie:

My first avatar here was Major Kong riding the bomb. My last one was a golden eagle. And this one is the effigy from the “Burning Man” festival.

I liked that avatar. BTW, I watched Dr. Strangelove the other night. Great movie!

AWESOME movie

one of many...

You mean that isn’t you? I’m shocked!

I remember the first time I saw your avatar, I’m a great fan of the whole GiTS universe too.

Mine is the character Ernest T. Bass (Actor Howard Morris) from The Andy Griffith Show. Why? Because it makes me laugh. One of the best ever characters on TV.

sassy

I had a lot of bad teeth as a kid, kind of liked the feeling of getting X-rays. So I would sneak into the Dentist’s office at night, and play with the X-ray machine, kind of like getting a tan, you know. I was fascinated with my fingers, watching the little bones move around — so fun. Then I started growing extra fingers. I tried to hide them in mittens, finally, I just had too many. So, I wired three of them together, tada, problem fixed…

PM me if you believe me, I have this Interstate Bridge I would like to sell on this forum…

i’ll maybe update my avatar with a picture of my girlfriend… :stuck_out_tongue: or start a thread with girlfriends/wifes possibly

Well he doesn’t need flashlights then……… :stuck_out_tongue:

I wanted to use my actual photo as some have here, but I’ve been told at 7’3” tall, including other features, I bear a striking resemblance to Glenn Strange from Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein. So rather than scare forum members, I decided on using a boring avatar of my AE Light Xenide 25W HID.

Richie, If you look anything like Glenn Strange, I'd like your autograph.... lol! (I am a huge fan of those old movies) I have many on DVD

Hi Glenn! Nah, don’t look anything like him. But from the photo I posted, I guess it’s easy to tell I’m his biggest fan (no pun intended) to have immortalized him as I have. You have great taste in movies too.

Thanks Richie. You have to see my collection of old horror movies, including Abbott and Costello comedy horror flicks. I have a special liking of 'B' rated horror flicks from the 40's, 50's and the 60's

Are you a fan of Plan 9 from Outer Space? (Think that's the name.). Another old fav of mine is King of Hearts. Really want my wife to see it (she's now a professional licensed Counselor).

-Garry

Garry, I have Plan 9 From Outer Space. I can make you a DVD copy if you like. It's probably the worst movie ever made but it's a classic. I believe it's Bela Lugosi's last movie.

You guys are great. We’re going to have to start a section on this forum for horror classic “B” movies. I’m in for sure
