Need a slow strobe driver (or a light with this mode)

I want to make a flashlight for carrying in the car, so it has to run on AA/AAA, has at least three modes - high, low, slow strobe (2Hz-5Hz, to make me more visible if I have to get off the car at night).

Is there a complete light with this setting?

If not, I was thinking L2i or L2r (more run time but less selection of drivers due to voltage), with XM-L (might be overkill at the available current but I like it better than XP-G), probably OP reflector, and a suitable driver.

It would be nice if there was also some diffuser available. (solarforce only has a rather expensive diffusing lens, which is not as handy as those Fenix diffuser tips) (edit: there seem to be some 32mm diffuser tips available, they fit the L2i/L2r, so I guess this is solved)

The driver seems to be the most problematic to find.

I don't care if it also has other modes, don't care for mode memory (as long as it isn't "switch to next mode on next off/on" thing). It should handle 1.6v-4.5v, at least. (1.6v - for two depleted AA in the L2r) if there's something that can be used with 1AA (min 0.8v) that's even better.

Any suggestions?

There is a driver at KD wit 17modes in 3 groups similar to Ak-47. Search KD with "circuit board". I believe it has 5-6 blinking modes at least. Im browsing by mobile device as i cannot check kd for you.

Thanks Be-Seen Triker, but this really isn't what I'm looking for.

I need an AA/AAA flashlight, not an 18650 one.

Anyway, I looked at DX and found the following "complete" solutions:

All have a slow strobe. I don't know the frequency.

Maybe I should just go with a programmable Akoray K-106? http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=6974

But it needs to be good for my father: shouldn't get into programming/mode switching too easily (not to confuse the user), should be quite easy to press the button with a large thumb.

But all of the above may not be bright enough... that's why I was thinking Manafont XML with L2i or L2r.

so... which light/driver should I buy?
