DQG 18650 EDC--World's Smallest 18650 Flashlight

Wow, that'd be great, good service, thanks, I will send you a PM right away, I am a bit clumsy sometimes but the light is dear to me.

The new version IV is a real improvement by the way, the threading is so smooth that at the moment I do not dare to put it on my keychain in fear of loosing the head, great that the switching is now the other way around!

Wow, nice light  Hardly dunno it will work with protected cells :expressionless:
On the other hand, what part should be twisted? That SS part? Just saying, because that part should have some knurling for easier operation. I see small knurling part on the head, if that is the part you need to twist - awesome.

It works with most protection 18650s, Like AW , Keeppower , Sanyo , Panasonic.

Yes, by twisting the knurling part on the head, you can turn it on/off and change modes.

Ric

Wow, what a fabulous-looking torch. I want one!

no clip, but now that I have seen your link, I still want one of those, as well! Dual O-rings on each end, even. And, at that price, I think this will also make a terrific birthday gift for my best friend. Thanks!

Does this flashlight have a low-voltage stepdown or sth like that so we can use unprotected cells, too?

Ric, do you have a release date and estimated price? i was waiting to get one of these, but the wait is getting too long, and i need an edc

It will be released by the end of the month. Price tag.. he said it will be worth the quality, considering the DQG AA is 31$ in NW, I guess this one will be around 50$.

The price might be acceptable to some, but thats at least twice what Id be willing to spend for a light like this. Im sure there are many others that would agree…

I am the first who agrees… If that’s the cost i need to go for other deal. Too expensive for my customs policies.

i agree - $30 is my max for edc lights…if a light is lost or dropped $30 isnt too bad to replace

I’d pay $31 for this.

I wish there was an option of having a higher current driver though. If I only want 500 lumens I might as well stick with a AA light which will weigh less and take up less space in the pocket.

If I’m going to go to the trouble to carry around an 18650 light I want it to be able to output high lumens, even if only for a few minutes at a time due to overheating. I’d prefer the option for a 2.5 or 2.8 amp driver.

I hope it’s under $30. If so, I’ll order one.
Even if it is great quality, for me the function of this sort of light doesn’t warrant that price tag. On top of that, it has relatively simple optics which should lower costs a little. Not having glass up front means eventually having to change the TIR or live with a ‘fuzzy’ light.

2A is enough for this kind of small light!
I know my h600w heats quickly on turbo (645 lumens, probably 2A too) and it is similar in size but have cooling fins
But please make this affordable, I’m still a student and have income of ~60 euros a month only :frowning:
Optional xml2 t6 3c would be the best imho

And now, a friendly announcement: (ie: cynical sense of humor): Perhaps the few that were so eager to spend the big bucks (before the price is even announced) can help offset what the light might be worth to the vast majority. Ric, please go ahead and collect from the $50 crowd first, as they are most willing to pay right away. Some might even buy the shoes off your feet (sight unseen) if you post your shoe size.

That, or please feel free to donate all that money burning holes in your pockets to the FP Avgas happiness fund. I will guarantee that your contributions will be well spent providing utter bliss to myself and many other air junkies.

All in good fun…

Don’t bother posting shoe size, I’ll buy em sight unseen

I’d like to see it with XP-G2 for better throw and three modes 0,05A-0,35A-1,5A in that order. With or without memory. That would be perfect EDC light.

Yes yes, but keep it 2A

No, it’s a small flashlight with very limited heat transfer, 2A won’t give any more light than 1,5A. Even in much bigger Armytek Predator the difference between 1,5 and 2,2A is none, 0,7A is wasted as heat. Some people want it to be driven @3A. That would make it bright for a few seconds and cook the emitter after one minute. I think 2A is a little bit too much, not to mention 3A…
