6 Xm-l light bar build

Any thoughts on doing a smaller pair for offroad BUGGIES?

I think My friend Jimmy is going to be one of your 1st customers.
I turned him onto this website about 2 weeks ago and he fell in love with the Light bar. He has one of those Side by Sides.
Just emailed him your new website address and told him “Just order the Thing!”

Anyway, hope he does because I want to see it in use up close and personal.
Thanks,
Keith

Received yesterday the light bar, and even if it was not yet mounted on any vehicle, I was very curious to see the output, so wired in a pushbutton an a RC Lipo battery 3s (11,1v nominal), and as soon as evening came in I started playing with it out of the window!

Wow! Sure now my neighbours think very bad words about me but, boy was it fun! It's impressive how a handheld unit like this can enlightend to daylight the backyard and surrounding buildings!

And my very compliments to Ryan also for the hyper-professional look of the finished unit, it looks and feels much more stylish and refined than some famous top dollars brands!

Great!

Thanks,

Post some pics when you get it mounted.

Here is what I am working on now. Cree MT-G2 with a 45mm reflector. Round housing about 2.375” diameter. I just got the LED and reflector from cutter today. I did mount the LED on a chunk of aluminum and fired it up off my bench power supply. This thing looks great inside my shop. I can not wait for it to get dark and get some beam shots. This thing should be a monster flooder!

Very nice. I can’t wait to see what type of beam you get with it.

Here is the beam shot of the new prototype single MT-G2. The little trees in the far back are around 100 yards.

The heck with vehicles; I’d be strapping a handle and battery to it and use it on walks!

I think it will fit in A “D” cell mag head. If not I plan on making a screw on head for a mag. I have a 3 cell lipo rc pack that will fit down the tube for a easy mod.

Hey Bigtoy, nice beam you got there. Using the mtg2 in my Torchlite build, I got a similar useful beam as well. Great job!

That light bar is amazing! I like the comment about putting a handle on it and carrying it! lol Working on getting a push bar for our new 2012 Ford Escape. It’s got the Sport Appearance Package with black wheels and black grill, as much blackout as Ford could conceive of with a Blood Red paint job. This light bar would be awesome to lead the way, perhaps another in back for those folks that want to tailgate with their high beams on!!!

Nice job, very much look forward to what else you come up with.

I have a belt mounted Li-polymer battery pack with microphone cable connectors, easy plug and go. It’s got a 12V and 13.1V selectable switch, something like 5500mAh? Not sure, but it should run this bad boy for a while anyway! That random strobe could be awesome in a pinch, yes?

Here is A quick drawing of what the new single might look like. 2.375” Diameter x 3” long.

I’m about to put a push bar on a ’12 Escape, wife isn’t keen on the big light bar although I love it. Maybe she’ll be good with a couple singles on/under a black bar….great idea!

I received the prototype board today, Thanks PilotPTK. I am hoping to have the housing done next week. I am still finalizing the design.

I added a power input on this one for the motorcycle guys. It now has dual power inputs like a regular headlight low/high. One input for low the other for high.

The optic that is pictured is the flood. The spot is clear.

Final drawing, time to throw some aluminum!

Just saw this thread and read through the entire thing. Great craftsmanship! Do you offer a warranty on these light bars? How waterproof are they?

Lifetime warranty. Lights are fully sealed. I have tested them fully submerged in water for over 24 hous.

Will the round lights be side mounted or bottom mounted? I'm trying to think of how I'd mount them on my motorcycle, ideally as a headlight replacement.

I'd almost certainly run two of those to fill out the front. Or just the 6x lightbar if wiring is still simple.

Now I have a winter project. Rehab my bike.

Side mounted like the light bar. I will probably make a u shaped bracket. I have not got that far yet.
