Hey guys I’m looking for a nice 26650 battery charger with cut off when done charging, im making 5 maglite builds for my dad’s friends and I no they will not monitor there battery like they should
Touch wood I have used before giving these away with flashlights and not had any problems with half a dozen off them. I have another two on order. The only problem you may have are that they only charge at 650 ma. All off them have terminated at 4.18 to 4.2 volts. I still would not recommend not keeping an eye on the charge though. Good luck with the builds.
I ordered the charger from Intl Outdoor a week ago. I didn't notice the low charge rate. I wanted it because it'd give me a second 26650 charger that would get me started on the path to 32650's.
The TR-005 has a much better charge rate, but mine over charges my batteries by ~0.02V. It doesn't fit my protected 26650's very well, and sometimes I'll tape down the battery to improve its contact.
I haven't read many good things about the TR-006, which is too bad because it looks very desirable.
This is my only charger, it is a no nonsense simple device, light turns red when charging, flickers between red and green when almost full, and goes solid green when charging is completed.
Mine terminates at 4.15V, it was 4.19V the first time i used it, but after a few uses it now always terminates at 4.15V. So use it a few times before giving it away to determine its termination point.
I have such a charger ripped open laying around…I can make a photo. Ordere from cnq for about 3$
I use only the cradle with my hobby charger, there were much things in it but on the first view I recognized no common charger IC.
Thank you for the pictures of internal of HG-106LIX. I wonder why the manufacturer chose to use 5 transistors instead of 1 IC for that charger? It was probably more economical for them to use the transistors than IC. Those pictures are so clear and sharp. Great pictures!
