Review: Digital Projector LED Spotlight Cree T6

110KLux with this Setup……wow!

Which 19.5cm reflector do you mean?

Hi Bibihang,

Although this gold one still uses the lead acid battery, the other one I already upgraded to Redilast 18650 3100mAh cells and works great. You may have missed my post on it here:

Double wow!!

Hi Richie!

Yeah actually I did see your mod already, but I don’t know how did you charge your cells without taking the cells out everytime when you want to recharge it? Do you fix a charging board inside?

Hi Bibihang, at this point I have the light dismantled in order to try upgrading it with a more powerful driver which will also require additional cooling. So I haven’t had a chance to figure out a better way to recharge the 18650 cells while still in the light. As soon as I make some headway, I’ll be sure to post about it.

110k cd is quite nice for 50 bucks! I believe the LX1010B reads a wee bit more optimistic, we can safely put it as 100k cd. It could have been driven better as you can see from both the pure spill + ceiling bounce with the light meter, the difference is unmistakable (though you said you measured 3A + at the LED, not sure what happened there). If you do mod it, i think 150k cd is doable.

I think i’ll pull the trigger and get that 19.5cm diameter light, and see what happens. 71 bucks shipped to here in SG.

I think, i will “open” the reflector and as heatsink i will use THIS

Andi, whatever you end up trying, please take a few interior shots so we can see the install. I’m really into giving my mtg2 LED a try in this reflector to see how the beam is. I’m still working on a few ideas to deal with the extra heat involved using a 3.5a driver and the mtg2. I’ll keep you all posted as I progress with it.

WOW nice tight beam! Is this like a best budget thrower but a really huge one?

Well, it’s a well made light and throws well, but moderately driven. So heat it’s a problem and the lead acid 4v battery is 7500mAh, so you get very long run times. One of mine I’m in the process of upgrading the XML to an MT-G2, and a more powerful driver. It’s going to take a while to get all the parts. But when complete, I’ll post about it.

I noticed they’ve sold 9 of these lights since I’ve posted about it. Has anyone from this forum purchased one and received it?

Mine don´t pass the customs. :_(

Sorry to hear that. I’d like to know why they refused it. Maybe they thought it had Li-ion cells in it or that an X-ray showed it had the battery installed.

Man, I hate hearing about stories like that! |( … and it isnt my package. I hope this works out for you Andi.

Problem was the implemented battery…no Manual/Type of battery, Signs, and so on.

Thx for your condolence.

I just noticed this light last night and instantly thought MG-T2. How is your MG-T2 mod going?

I ordered one from this vendor. $30 and maybe includes another flashlight with it. Don’t know the vendor, but decided to risk it.

EDIT: Looking at the 8the picture in the bottom section, it appears that the pill/reflector design may have changed.

Well, the vendor refused to ship me the light in the above link because the light is so heavy. So I ordered one for $44. Hopefully, this vendor will ship it. I really want to MG-T2 one of these.

I’ve ordered one of these - to be delivered to UK. So far I’m still waiting.

Hi pdh and welcome to the forum.

The light has some potential, but I wouldn't have purchased mine if I could turn back the clock. I started a thread here. I still do intend to finish mine and am hoping for a surprise.

If the vendor has not shipped yet, you can probably still cancel the order. I have before with Ali with good success. I just select "accidentally purchased the wrong item" or something to that effect. If you do purchase the light, I look forward to hearing how it goes for you. I still have high hopes for mine. I just wish it had a more sturdy and shinier reflector.
