Noob Solarforce L2t

I am a super noob when it comes to flashlights. I am looking for my first real flashlight. I don’t know if I am going to be addicted in the future, but I might want to change some parts out in my solarforce if the time comes. I definitely think the solarforce l2t would meet my needs the most. Looking for an all around/edc flashlight. I also light the fact I can mount it on an ar/ak rifle in the future if I desire. I also like the fact that there are so many p60 drop-ins. But since there are so many, I am not sure which one to purchase. I also know nothing on 18650 batteries or chargers for them(would keeppowers from kumabear be the best?). I will need a recommendation for those as well. I would like to shoot for something above 600 lumens and at least 2 batteries to start with and a charger. Also, a 3 mode or 5 mode would seem to be most practical for me. Budget = I would like to stay under $60 for the package. Also, I would need a belt holster and pocket clip for it if one does not come with it. I am also unsure about runtimes. I would assume a protected circuit would be better for my first battery as I am learning? Thanks all. Site seems to have better information then CPF.

Budget = $60

Package = 2x18650, 1 dropin, l2t body, charger, holster, clip

Lumens = around 600+ and 3 or 5 mode / also a single mode p60 in case I want one for rifle, don’t include this in budget or package.

Buy the Nitecore I4 v2 charger and a pair of Panasonic or Sanyo 18650 batteries from Fasttech, dont forget the 5% couponcode “BLF”.

The rest you can buy from Solarforce, but go for 3-mode over 5-mode drop-in if you dont have a need for strobe and sos, a pain with too many modes to click past.

Drop-ins can be found cheaper at Fasttech too though, but I think the SF drop-ins should be pretty good, dont know about the ones Fasttech sells.

$9.29 for 5-mode and $7.82 for 1-mode at FT.

Welcome
I’m just getting into the real flashlight world as well, and building an L2T how I want.
Here’s about what I’m doing:

From lighthound
Host (L2T) = $18
Clip = $5
Holster = $5
shipping = $8

From fasttech
Batteries (Panasonic or Sanyo) = $14
Nitecore i1 charger = $17

Drop in can be found either from lighthound (about $16) or fasttech ($10), but I decided to try to make mine with the emitter I want and then program the modes I want too (I want a really low mode)
Total is getting up to about $75 though, you can save a few $ if you go with an L2 and no clip, but I personally would not try to go any cheaper on batteries or charger. Maybe it doesn’t matter but I feel better about bigger name brand batteries since it could be bad if it goes ‘poof’, I just don’t trust Trustfire very much.
Good luck finding what you want

Are they good led’s? I also like the Nitecore Charger. I guess I can live without the pocket clip for now. Still think I want to support KumaBear and his batteries.

If you are comfortable building the drop-in. Buy parts from fasttech.
If not.
Get this one:

The drop-in looks nice. What is the difference between orange peel and smooth reflector?

Yeah, good call on the intl-outdoor drop in, I overlooked/forgot about that one

The smooth reflector will give you a beam with a distinct hot spot and will have better throw, the orange peel will diffuse the beam more and blend the hot spot into the spill more, better for putting the light on things closer to you.

Orange peel or OP will have smoother spill with a less defined hotspot. Smooth will have a tighter hotspot with some small artifacts “rings” in the beam if you shine it on a wall but will have better throw.
