Interest in (Google) Map of BLF Users?

Great idea

I'm game. My location listed is not that close to where I really live.

I’d drop my pin.

Click this link to add / edit your information. Then just follow the instructions on the left pane of the map..

Note that you need to be logged in with your Google account first.

Let's see how this goes. In case of failure I'll try to remove the map. ;)

Cool to see members scattered around in the world, thanks

all concentrated around major metro areas with “light pollution”: who needs a flashlight

Likewise. Chicagoland covers a lot of real estate...

Nice!

gj! added my location.

Added mine… it`s about 5km off center

I just used the town center, it’s a few miles off but close enough.

Great idea! I'm going to add mine after this post. I'm sure Texas and the Chicago area will be covered with markers. :D

EDIT: Added myself to the map. Felt like a dope before I was able to figure out the instructions. LOL!

oh, I think both together will have a tough time outnumbering NY

home of the slaves!

Im on the map… Another member from the northern and darker part of EU.
But where I am, there is always light!

I know, it’s a problem. I live on a main road in the central part of the city. It’s always bright and we never loose power. :expressionless: The best part is that Nova Scotia has become a leader in LED street lights and my city has been installing them everywhere, so it’s bright white light pollution now.

Cool idea! I am in!

I couldn’t figure the durned thing out to save my life! lol well, ok, took a while but I stumbled around in it til I was satisfied. Sucks being old, this computer tech stuff that the kids just intuitively know is a booger for the old birds! :stuck_out_tongue:

Not so much in the middle of light pollution. Pretty much opposite that. And for us, lights can go at any time. Beautiful spring day, not a cloud in the sky, poof…no electricity. They’re usually pretty quick to get it fixed though, I’ll give em that. We also, being out in the country, have trees on fence lines…which of course is also where the power lines run. Storms quite often knock out the quick growing trashy trees like Hackberry that the birds are so fond of planting and they wreak havoc on the power lines. So a flashlight a Stihl chainsaw with pre-mixed gas handy are almost a pre-requisite.

Nice to see the connections, although some of us are literally the world apart seeing it on the map flattened out gives some perspective. Almost makes it seem like we’re all neighbors!

I screwed it up sorry!

Fixed it for you. :)

Ps. I also took a backup .kml file to be able to restore back to this situation in case someone manages to break the map totally..

Thanks!!
