Hi there,
just bought this flashlight (Ultrafire U8 xml-t6 5 Modes) from manafont. I draws 2.8 Amps at the tailcap from a fresh battery.
The only thing is that i do not like the flash, sos modes. I´ve seen the flashlight somewhere else announced as three mode flashlight. So i hope i can modify the driver (maybe just a solderpoint) to user 2 or three brightness modes.
So anybody a idea how to open this ? Just screw the plastic ?

You should be able to pry open the protective pad. It's probably held by some not very strong glue or by friction.
Switching to a suitable 2.8A driver (KD has a few) with Hi-med-lo might also work but installing the driver might prove tricky since it seems press fit.
your´re right. The plastic can be easily removed but there is only the star glued at the frame. The driver itself is pressed in, i think i would destroy it if i try to open. So i have to stick with the modes,
