[19-FEB-2013] Help choose three new lights for the BLF frontpage welcome!

@vectrex

Getting on the list is just one part, voting for three favorites is the other part  .
I doubt that there will be enough members voting for the Olight i6 to join the club of the best 3 budget lights.(same goes for the other lights you mentioned)

@sb
Hey sb, I think we got a double entry on the Small Sun ZY-T13, would you delete one and count the total votes together?

And thank you very much, the editing function works like a charm, I just edited this post 2 times.

My vote goes for

Black SRK
ZY-T13

GerChinglish?

Sipik SK68
Spolarforce L2P (I prefer L2T, but not much difference for me)
Added: TR-3T6 And voted for it!

I really don’t see any light over $40 as budget tbh, I’ve not yet sprung for that on any one purchase, ok one emitters and drivers and cells are added to a host, I’m well over, but that doesn’t count, that’s a build and a different kettle of fish

To me, budget is less than $30 with impressive performance for its given field - srk, yeah I see that, no argument.
Smallsun zy-t08/zy-t13 same thing.

Ea4, I just don’t see its a budget light.
Just like a fenix/o-light/surefire isn’t a budget light.

3 Sipik 68: one original, one clone and one with cannibalised 3 usd tube extension. Nothing shows more budget light than a sipik 68

+1. Reason why I am NOT voting SRK. The best made originals seems to be 60$…
40$ have lots of variotions in build quality and output strenght… Adding up to 4 quality batteries does noe help on price eiter…

I say: TR-3T6 ftw the win.
Price! Price for lumen is extremely good stock, good build quality. Price for lumen after modifications, unbeatable as far as I konw… Good heatsinking, Can use 2 or 3 batteries.

sk68 and srk without a doubt, for a third maybe a C8?

Hah! We posted about the same time. I’ll vote for yours if you vote for mine.

I voted blf a8, even though its a limited run. And the small sun zy-t13. Noted the reasons on both. I thought about my third being the ea4, but could not bring myself to it. It’s not a “budget” light technically, though budget is a relative term… It was in my budget at one point and I couldn’t be happier with it.

The 3rd ought to be an edc or a multi monster though. Although edc is another relative term too lol

i included the jacob A60 in the list, many mentioned it but nobody decide to include it! I’m in love with those 14$ i spent on this light

Look again… I just received more SRK’s from wallbuys today. They pull 6.4 – 6.5A from the cells, so they appear to all be properly equipped with the high output 3 terroid driver (not the crappy low output ones we’ve seen in many other SRK’s). Finish, reflectors and machining look as good as my original SkyRay Kings. Lets hope this continues.

The SK-68 is an obvious good budget choice, with a distinctive shape to help define the banner.

The Skyray King is the only worthwhile “photon grenade” at budget prices, and is quite photogenic.

The XinTD C8 is a great budget compact hybrid thrower.

However, I’d probably include the Zebralight H51. It’s not exactly a budget light, but I find it more useful than all my other lights combined so it seems worth its price. Sometimes it’s worth getting one really great light instead of a bunch of just-good lights.

Other nice options are the HD2010, any of a variety of 1xAAA keychain lights, and a cigar-sized 1x18650 tube light like HD2011 or Convoy S2/S3 or similar.

But my personal favorites are ZL H51, XinTD C8, SRK, and SK-68.

I’m almost afraid to see what will be created in the next year or two though; I may have to buy more lights to keep up with the latest best-of-class items!

Very well stated ToyKeeper!

The C8 category (HD2010, XinTD,X5) is ubiquitous!

SK68

King

C8

Purely based on popularity.

1. Black SRK

2. BLF A8

3.a) Solarforce L2T (seems to be the most popular P60 host)
b) HD2010
c) An actual P60 drop-in. (preferably a beautiful Vinz one)
d) Nitecore Smilodon?

I think we need to merge the c8s

Uh….
