XM-L U2

Match, that's encouraging feedback. It may be time for me to pull the trigger. Keep us posted.

Sounds like it's time for a newb like me to get to get my feet wet and learn how to swap out a driver from a drop-in. Any suggestions for a replacement driver Match?

A question I was about to ask myself, thankyouverymuch.

Any 8xAMC7135 based driver would be a fine choice. There's one here, here, or, here. A single mode option is here.

I have got a XM-L U2 1A.

In comparison to a T6, hotspot is not brighter, only spill is little, little bit brighter.

They are labelled! on the packaging. The problem is where we buy them from don't provide us with photo proof of the label, or include any of it with the product. The codes are too long to print onto the emitter in a human readable language and size anyway.

Hey, Andi, what tint does it have? What T6 do you have? UF 3 mode from MF?

I compare a KD C8 XM-L T6 & the same flashlight with chanched U2 (@moment i have 3 of the KD C8`s....ordered for friends)

I don´t know, wich tint is the T6, but the T6 is more blue, than my U2 1A.

Tomorrow i get 3 x XML U2 1C.

Made some pics:

Hmmmm, at first pic, it can be, that the U2 has little, little, little bit more spill....don´t know/can´t see by eyes ;-)

(in reality, the T6 looks bit more blue and the U2 looks not so yellow)

Thank you sir!

Match,

What/who is Cutter? thanks!

Cutter

...I have made a manual white balance, now it´s more realistic (U2 is 1A tint):

and i tested another full charged 18650 and yes, now U2 is bit brighter :)

Nice comparison, Andi! That's the way I see it, the U2-2S bin seems to be pure white.

definitely time for me to start the dropin-lego. drivers, pills, reflectors, emitters - mostly everything I'd need is mostly readily available.

If only procrastination wasn't such a big burden...

It's where the hardcore DIY-people buy their emitters from. Cutter Electronics.

Yes, XML U2 2S should be 5700K.....1A is 6500K:

maybe the KD C8 XML T6 is a 0A...soon i can test a XML U2 1C from DX :)

Who is T-mart ?

Foy - Have you tried any of the XM-L dropins in the L2i with 3xaaa. I saw that you reviewed the L2i with a P7, but was wondering how it stacks up with an XM-L. I've been thinking aobut getting an L2i and an XM-L drop-in. It'll be my first foray into P60 and also my first attempt into 18650 or cr123a type lights, but I want the option of powering with aaa if needed.

That $5.63 deal is long gone. That package is now ~$15

Thank you.
