Torchfanatic - welcome to BLF.
Yup, but unfortunately you have been scammed
Torch - $6-7
*2*x14500 blue, probably, unprotected TF - $3
charger - $3
You can get all that for about 13 bucks (less than 11 Euros) with, of course, cheap, slow chinese shipping (2-3 weeks of waiting). It’s a pity you haven’t found us (BLF) earlier Anyway, hope you enjoy your light
(well, found this “sipik” for 40 bucks  You got for the same price the torch, batt and charger  Good deal  )
lol  Man, you must be crazy to pay that for this stuff  Take a look at the original price
List Price: $499.99
Price: $90.29
You Save: $409.70 (82%)
Yeah its too bad. You could ask to return the product, or just take this as an expensive lesson
C3 or C5 or micro-controller, get real its an 8$ USD light, including shipping and the envelope, I really doubt the premium version run, otherwise people would just buy a better light in the first place. Guarantee of 2 years, and they actually reply to your message in english, that’s the guys business to make money and sell at a profit.
On the bright side you found this forum and can now get lots of other great lights for very low prices, half the discussion here is talking about Chinese vendors.
I don’t know if I can send it back at the moment. And the even worse thing is that when the delivery guy turned up with the torch there was an £29.37 import tax to pay at it came from Turkey (or somewhere). I have never had to pay import tax before.
I must be crazy :_(
EDIT: I suppose I could cancel the cheque for the import tax - that was made out to the courier company and see if I can return the torch…
Yeah, I would look into cancelling the cheque and sending it back, but you might have to contact the courier about it or face some questions.
You get insurance on basic airmail, so if it gets lost you could claim it back again.
The LEDs are driven quite hard, in the $10 versions at up to 150% of their rated max current. You should still see a good few thousand hours of use out of them though. It’s the battery and circuit that are likely to break first.
If you paid via paypal or credit card, you might argue (on whatever grounds seem most reasonable to you — say, perhaps, it didn’t work or that the switch was sporadic, which happens when the retaining ring around the switch is loose) that the item delivered was significantly not as described (SNAD). You might have to return it via a trackable method, but that shouldn’t cost too much. And if someone in the postal service removed the torch and replaced it with a rock that weighed about the same as the torch before it got to Turkey, then paypal would still side with you, as you have proof of shipment/delivery.
i think we have all done this at one time or another. i spent almost $100 on my first ecig kit consisting of two manual 510 batteries, 10 cartridges and a charger |(
Supertorch did not reply to my email so I called them. The lady said she would reply to my email with details on returning the torch. In the email it states that all custom duties, fees and levies are my responsibilities. So I have asked what these will be.
