Heider CF1 = $10 SIPIK SK68?

Ya know the spam email people get all the time, that seems utterly unbelievable?

Thing is — it costs them nothing, and they want only the people who will believe that crap.

Same thing about Internet advertising on websites — the only responses they need are the ones they fool right from the start.

It’s a dirty old world.

Yeah its too bad. You could ask to return the product, or just take this as an expensive lesson :frowning:

C3 or C5 or micro-controller, get real its an 8$ USD light, including shipping and the envelope, I really doubt the premium version run, otherwise people would just buy a better light in the first place. Guarantee of 2 years, and they actually reply to your message in english, that’s the guys business to make money and sell at a profit.

On the bright side you found this forum and can now get lots of other great lights for very low prices, half the discussion here is talking about Chinese vendors.

According to their website they have a “reasonable pricing policy.” lol

If you paid by Paypal you could try opening a dispute with them.

Hi, I wish I had seen this site before I bought one of these CF2 torches. http://www.supertorch.eu/en/
It will be a very expensive lesson!

Hello Fat Angus and welcome to BLF ! ! !

Can you send the Heider back and get a full refund of your money ?

I don’t know if I can send it back at the moment. And the even worse thing is that when the delivery guy turned up with the torch there was an £29.37 import tax to pay at it came from Turkey (or somewhere). I have never had to pay import tax before.

I must be crazy :_(

EDIT: I suppose I could cancel the cheque for the import tax - that was made out to the courier company and see if I can return the torch…

that doesent work out vat is 19%import tax is whatever the decide on the day.but it sounds to me like you payed shipping on delivery,ie twice

Checking the slip, it shows

Duties: £18.38

Other Government Charge £11.00

I’m not sure what all that means…

yeah £11is handling charge+vat+import duty.Without the handling charge it seems about right but still disgusting…

Is there anyway I can return this torch and also get my other charges back?

Let this be a lesson to everyone “Buy in haste, repent at leisure”

Even if you could ,you would probably forfeit the return shipping which would have to b trackable and cost a fare bit

Thanks Jakey, It looks as though I may just have to swallow a very expensive lesson.

On another point.

The LED’s in these kind of Torches must be “driven” very hard so I assume they have a limited life? (Just wondering)

It might be worth finding out how much it will be to send back (tracked). A refund on the light is better than nothing.

Yeah, I would look into cancelling the cheque and sending it back, but you might have to contact the courier about it or face some questions.

You get insurance on basic airmail, so if it gets lost you could claim it back again.

The LEDs are driven quite hard, in the $10 versions at up to 150% of their rated max current. You should still see a good few thousand hours of use out of them though. It’s the battery and circuit that are likely to break first.

Thank you Chloe & RedForest.

I will see if I can send it back and also the carrier about the charges/cheque.

Thank you also for the information about how the LEDs are driven.

If you paid via paypal or credit card, you might argue (on whatever grounds seem most reasonable to you — say, perhaps, it didn’t work or that the switch was sporadic, which happens when the retaining ring around the switch is loose) that the item delivered was significantly not as described (SNAD). You might have to return it via a trackable method, but that shouldn’t cost too much. And if someone in the postal service removed the torch and replaced it with a rock that weighed about the same as the torch before it got to Turkey, then paypal would still side with you, as you have proof of shipment/delivery.

DD was caught doing it

i think we have all done this at one time or another. i spent almost $100 on my first ecig kit consisting of two manual 510 batteries, 10 cartridges and a charger |(

it is too bad people are doing this crap…

An update:

Supertorch did not reply to my email so I called them. The lady said she would reply to my email with details on returning the torch. In the email it states that all custom duties, fees and levies are my responsibilities. So I have asked what these will be.

As far as I know, for any goods entering to customs in Turkiye,
if it is over €75, you will pay customs and handling fees.

I do not know what they do about return shipments, unopened and undelivered to the destination.

I have returned a keyboard from EU, just because it requires a power of attorney document that costs about $60.
But the sender paid for the return shipping so I do not know about the cost to them.

The carrier must know all about these costs.

2 days ago I purchased this torch from supertorch.eu.

I didn’t shop around since the $49 price tag seemed ok.

Not sure if the $5 ones on Ebay are the same.

All I know is that it shipped from Turkey and got to my front door in 2 short days. I’m sure that wasn’t cheap.

I love the torch. It is very bright for the size and the smallish battery. I love that it is so compact. This light rocks.

Could I have gotten it cheaper elsewhere, maybe. But to call this a scam is out of line.
A scam is when you pay for something and you either don’t get it or you get some misrepresented product that sucks.

This is neither. This product is as advertised. The price includes super fast shipping, no tax, and a “free” charger and battery.

Again, if someone names a price you don’t have to buy it from them. You can always shop around.

I am happy with my purchase.
