Shadow SL3 with 9A driver?

Yeah, this Is the perfect balance of flood and throw for me. It lights up everything around me, and still has a concentrated hotspot that throws really well.

What’s the cheapest place to get the sl3? I got cnqg at $70

Yep, I am in if:

- the delivered price is less than $100

- single click to turn on (even if 1 second)

  • the 9A mode does not drop down based on duration, but on temperature (like the KD drivers people here have been using)

I haven’t seen them any cheaper than that.

At the moment, the SL3 drops down based on voltage sag(as far as i know). The time before drop down varies between cells.
Its several minutes even @ 9A, and at which stage, the light is hot.

6 more! come on BLF!

you can count me in if its cheap enough???

List updated, thanks

The more I see this light the more I love it. Glad I’m in on this one.

ill wait a week or so to see if this materializes… if not i may just buy one and add the chips myself. id like to see what changes, if any, are offered on this deal though. if there is no changes other than adding extra chips, im thinking $85-90 tops though.

edit: that is if there is no mode/ui changes or an extension tube… just added chips

I was wondering what the controller is on the board? Wonder if its a programmable one, then port in dr jones electronic switch firmware 8)

Sounds interesting

hay matt, after the 9amp upgrade, is this light brighter than a skyray king now? do you know if this light is floodier than the king with the upgrade? if both of these were a yes, you can add me to the list now.

I don’t have a SRK unfortunately. The SL3 is my brightest light. All my other lights are p60’s or smaller.
Its very floody, but also has an intense hotspot, so throws well too.

it will be brighter than the skyray king, king only pushes around 2a per emitter…

ok, in that case, put me on that list as well

How much would the modded light be brighter than than a genuine SkyRay King?

Cheers!

Anyone know what board they use? Would it be possible to replace them with 16mm or 20mm SinkPads (and XM-L2 U2)? 8) If so I could be interested…. (sorry can’t give a definite at the moment)

around 600-750 lumens brighter
so around 25-30% more light

Sounds promising, thanks!
