Review: Convoy M1 XM-L T6-3C 2.8A 2-Group 3/5 mode

Great review. Thanks for that.

Also, I am very impressed with Fasttech. They seam to go the extra mile and care about the customer, which is rare for a Chinese based company.

One suggestion on your review. I always find it helpful to see lights in someones hand to get an idea on its size. You have parts in your hand which helps, but a hand actually holding the light is good.

Thanks again.

hi thanks very much.
would a “Panasonic Protected NCR18650A Rechargeable 3100mAh 3.7V 18650 Lithium Battery” fit the M1 ?.
might order a pair along with the M1 7C tint.

thanks.

With those cooling fins in the head, it looks like it is asking to be driven to 5+ amps

Thanks, helpful pictorial descriptions of the flashlight parts!

Ask and you might receive. In this case you did. I’ve added in hand pics to the OP.

Quick question. I just bought this M1: Convoy M1 Cree XM-L U2-1B 2-Group 3/5-Mode 350LM LED Flashlight (1 x 18650 / AMC7135*8 / HA-III). On specs it says rated 350LM, while others T6-3C, T4-7C, T5-5C that are also AMC7135*8 are rated 700LM on the Fasttech website. Did I just purchase the wrong one? :frowning:

Must just be a typo in the specs.

Yeah, that’s just a typo in the specs. If you look closely you will see that it says >350 lumens and it is, by twice that amount at least.

As long as you bought the AMC7135*8 version you shouldn't worry. :)

Thanks guys!

How can I tell its AMC7135*8 version when I get it?

Nice review JM looks like a nice light!

Was wondering if this pill fits this light
Link

If so then you could just buy one light and build a pill to swap in to it you wanted. That way you could choose different tints or brightness bins or upgrade the light when newer and better things come out without loosing the option to go back to the old one.

It will have 4 of the 7135’s around the spring like in the pictures in the review

(facepalm)

Thanks, bud! As to that pill you linked to I’d say no. That sucker is 30mm in diameter (according to their specs) and made for a 26650 light. The entire head on the M1 is only 35mm. Good idea though but no way will it fit.

LOL! Doh! Been there and done that.

Thanks for the great review. Very thorough and great pics!

So, what sort of mods did you have in mind for this light?

Very nice review on such great flashlight, thank you JohnnyMac

Great review Johnny. Thanks for sharing

So the 4 little boys are queuing for their coffee

Thank you JohnnyMac. Would you review the Convoy C8 in the future? It seems to be a nice light too.

If they will send me one I’d be happy to. A little too much $$ for me to spend on my own for a light that would redundant with some I already have. I did ask them to send me one originally but it was too pricey for them to send for a review. If I can work a good discount deal with them so it won’t be too much OOP I can make it happen. Maybe they will read this and reconsider. I will try though since the C8 looks like a fantastic light and a far better light of that size than a stock/modded Maglite.
