I just received my first EA4 (I decided to buy a second because the price was so attractive). I haven't had it for very long, but so far I LOVE it. I've heard some mixed opinions about the User Interface, but I find it very easy to understand and personally like it very much (wish all my lights had this UI).
It's not as bright as my Sky Ray King and doesn't throw like the FandyFire STL-V6, but it's a great in-between light. It's compact, has a nice 'floody' beam, has a good range of modes and runs on standard AA batteries.
I would have picked up the FandyFire Rook if it didn't have the parasitic drain issue, but I'm more than happy with my "2nd choice" of the EA4.
Finally got mine today. While it's not exactly the form factor I like, I do absolutely love this light.
The switch takes some getting used to, but nothing major.
The closes light I have to it, is the fandyfire rook, in fact in terms of size they are almost identical, the EA4 being a hair shorter. The EA4 outperforms it slightly in both throw, and brightness, although not side by side impossible to tell the difference. Of course off of four AA lithium batteries!
Another layman observation... the EA4 warms up much faster vs the rook, meaning either the driver is getting hot fast, or the heatsinking is much better on it, to transfer away the heat.
Altogether I'm extremely impressed, and quite tempted to pick up another one. It would make a nice flashlight gift for non flashaholics, considering it's fine with the use of regular AAs.
I bought one for my brother... got him a skyray king for the stupid bright light, but I think he'll use this one more considering it can just use regular batteries.
Streamer, how is that possible if the Nitecore Ea4 has not been in stock at Fasttech for weeks? I know because I’ve monitored it for weeks. Not in stock.
EA4W was in stock for a few hours yesterday. I checked the coupon code and it still worked then (only one left then, sold out now). You can only check the coupon code if the item can be added to you cart. Out of stock items cannot be added.
I kept one in my cart and it’s still there; coupon is still good
I have not seen applied it to batteries because I’ve never bought fewer than three at a time; the bulk discount kicks in which is much more than the BLF 5% discount.
I just checked, on my second order from them, I only got two sets, not enough for the quantity discount, but I did have 5% come off for the BLF coupon, on batteries. Both pricecontrol and blf coupons worked on the ea4w, but did not stack.
