Three stars for BoB. The prices are pretty keen, delivery time acceptable, reasonable website and search facility.

Not as many products as DX/ KD but some very decent lights, batteries and chargers available.

Are they the same company as Dealextreme?  I read somewhere that they are practically the same thing.  Although I suppose that all of these companies are just drop-shippers, and they get their products from the same distributors.

Do you remember how many days takes it takes them between placement of order and submitting the package to the post office for shipment?

Thanks for the comments, I was wondering about this company.

I don't think there's a relationship between BoB and DX, although the business model is similar. I've had no problems with BoB and the turn around seems, generally, faster than DX.

No worse or better than DX overall though, imo.

I've never ordered from BoB, but they seem to steal pictures from DX and then alter the DX logo out of the picture. Plus they have a Digg button that is fake. So right up front they have some shady business practices.

They don't seem to have any unique items compared to DX.

They do have some knives that DX doesn't carry. I was actually going to order a few just to check them out, but the coupon codes that show up correctly on their website don't seem to actually do anything. When I checked out, I got a total of nineteen bucks and some change (after 15% rebate) but after the redirect to Paypal, the discount had magically disappeared. This could just be a bug and I'm not suggesting that they're intentionally trying to mislead their customers but it was enough to make me not go through with the order.

You should continue with check out. After you paid, you get discount.

Thanks for the tip, Hrvoje. I think I'll give them another shot and order a single item this time.

It just strikes me as a weird way to do business to expect your (new) customers to pay the full amount up front - particularly since it doesn't say anywhere that they'll issue a partial refund. Even though it wasn't a lot of money in my case, it just seems... broken. And I imagine I'm not the first potential customer who decided to just go and shop elsewhere.

With BOB just go throught the process and on the paypal screen you will see the non discounted price but then it will take you back to BOB then you will see the discount price.

The on paypal you will see the discounted price when you log on.

Since all comments normally slide in this part of the forum  toward critical .I'll chime in and say that I had a perfectly satisfactory buying experiance with them ..Nicely packaged , easy check out , good descriptions beam shots ,descriptions were accurate ..Great price ...Yada yada yada ..I have nothing bad to say whatsoever ..From me they get two thumbs up ...  What more does anyone want  fom a company ?? call me a shill or mark this as spam but they deserve praise considering the lousy treatment , deceptive advertising , products never showing up or wrong ,damaged etc .,etc,etc,.ad infinum .. from other places .

Taking my shoes off to give them Two big toes up too ..

Worked for me =)

That's always good news. Competition, especially decent or good competition is always a positive thing for us consumers. Thanks Boaz.

Do these people tell the truth?

Got e mail stating that the Jetbeam PA01 has a 50% discount

Yes it's only a 30% discount $120 to $84.

But LightJuction has it for $49

Same lies as Dino Direct.

I placed an order with Bestofferbuy two days ago, and today they e-mailed me to say one of the items I wanted (the Tank007 Tk566 3 mode with extension tube) wasn't in stock, so they gave me the choice of cancelling that part of the order, waiting and shipping my orders separately, or replacing it with the 5 mode for no extra charge, even though the 5-mode costs a couple bucks more.  I chose the 5-mode.

So... pretty good so far, I'll have to wait and see what happens when the packages arrive.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me when I ordered half a dozen items. Received a shipping notification for four of them a week later and another email a couple of hours later about the missing, out of stock items. I opted for the refund since the alternatives they offered didn't particularly appeal to me and received it a couple of days later, minus the value of the coupons (don't remember the particular amount but their math checked out). So I really don't have anything bad to say about them either.

On some items, the number of "Diggs" seems somewhat dubious (some generic-looking multi tool I was looking at had 12,000+ diggs, which is just ridiculous unless the thing walks the dog, does the dishes and brings me coffee -- I checked the same item just now and it's showing 0 diggs so that might have been a glitch) and some stuff is a bit overpriced but so far, no complaints. CS responds quickly and after some back and forth, resolved the minor issue I had. I've placed two smaller orders during the CNY break and I think I'll be ordering from them again. As always, it pays to shop around though.

Edit: Oh, and their coupons only work once (RETAIL10 or BOB10 for 10% off).

Placed an order with BestOfferBuy on January 18.  Now the 24th of February with no item in sight.  Contact customer service, was told I'd have to wait another week before they'll do anything, which would put me right up against the Paypal dispute date.

Slimy customer service.

As usual open a paypal dispute and just tell them that if nothing happens in 15 days it will go to claim. But being from BLF you probably know the drill.

What did you buy from them if i may ask?

I've already opened a dispute.  Bought a couple of Tank007 lights from them since after the one time use coupons BestOfferBuy had the best price.

Quick follow up: one of my orders showed up today in a brown, unpadded envelope that was supposed to contain two knives but didn't. Instead all I got was one knife and a printed invoice with $10 S&H (not sure what's up with that because I didn't pay a cent for shipping but it's probably something you want to keep in mind if customs cares about this sort of stuff in your country).

So I figured they had split the order and went back to re-checked my shipping notification and their website, and, nope, nothing. After emailing their support, I received a reply within a couple of hours and apparently they did split the order, sent the second knife out the same day as the first (huh?) and offered a full refund if it doesn't turn up within a week, which I thought was pretty good.

So far, so good.

Well, after filing a Paypal dispute BestOfferBuy finally decided to actually stop stalling me... I did get a full refund.  Now I need to find another place that carries the E07s cheap that's relatively reliable.

This probably isn't going to matter much unless you need to watch the total value of your orders for customs purposes but I think I managed to figure out why there's something showing up on the invoice under "Shipping & Handling", even though shipping is free. Apparently, it's a bug. If you use a coupon code of any kind, it'll show up there. This does not appear to affect billing but if you order $20 worth of stuff and use a $10 off coupon code, your invoice will show $30. And since there's a printed invoice inside every envelope they send out, you'll probably have to explain that one to a customs official who couldn't care less.

Edit: Just noticed that they overdeclared: real value of my order was $8 but the customs form says $15.

They wrote me a few months after my purchase and  asked me if I'd go and give them a feedback on rersellers ratings ..Which was no problem for me because for me they shipped fast and my item was a nice one ..a solarforce  one of my first lights and compared to every other chinese wholesaler they were 1000 times better  shipped fast and  was packaged well ..  so them giving me a 10$ off my next purchgase was super cool with me ...Maybe they saw my IP on their site because I looked at every stinking light they had ..A super heroic feat  that took days ..i was young ..what did I know ..it was like flashlight porn ... I still like them they did me right , they have my business..they earned it .

So far, so good.

I hate to reply to myself but since I was talking about my (previous) positive experiences with BoB, I thought I should probably add how the whole thing turned out. A CS rep eventually admitted that the knife they said they sent, was out of stock the whole time. When I pressed them, they admitted that they'd never sent the knife out in the first place. So, I guess, basically, the figured they'd try to get away with stiffing me. Needless to say, I was less than happy and demanded my money back. I eventually received a partial refund (minus the value of a coupon). I can be incredibly stubborn and normally, I'd have half a mind to file a PP complaint, even though we're talking about a buck and some change but, frankly, I'm too busy to care at the moment.

Maybe this was just an oversight. Maybe a CS rep screwed up. I don't know but the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth and I don't think I'll be ordering from them again. There are plenty alternatives for the stuff I regularly order anyway and I'd rather give my business to someone who tries to provide a good shopping experience.

It seems everyone has good and bad experiences with the same seller. You win some you lose some I guess.

3-star rating for my recent order of a Tank007 TK-737 5-mode. Customer service was pretty good, prompt responses. Took 5 days to ship out of their warehouse, longer delay than I hoped for. And the actual shipping time via HK Post took an eternity, much longer than usual even for China. But the product description was accurate and the price was great.

I have used bestofferbuy before, and didn't have any issues with them. Some of the prices were better than other China/HK gadget dealers, some not so good, so it pays to shop around.

Delivery time was typically slow.

While I have not personally had any issues with them, equally I couldn't see any great advantage to using them, unless picking an item that was on sale or unavailable elsewhere. Otherwise, I'd be just as likely to purchase from DX or KD.

And the code still works! Got 2 Jacobs A60s from them now. We shall see what they are made of!

EDIT: Whoops! Necro-thread.
