and ill give 100% refund if ur not happy with it

Q. What was the increase in output (with copper) again? I read somewhere but cant remember where. Was it something like 10-15 percent? thx

Yep, thanks that’s the place. Although that was with XML’s That’s way more of an increase than I thought. Another Q. Does anyone know the downsides of using copper?

I think the main downside for me would be the higher Vf.

Other than being more expensive, I can think of not a single downside to using copper over aluminum in this application.

I suppose, but the increase in brightness due to reduction in die temperature is more than the reduction due to increased Vf. Hence, still a net gain.

I’d be hard pressed to call that a downside.

K thanks for the response. Yea I was just wondering why they don’t just manufacture all of them with copper, since the performance seems to be so much greater. I was guessing it had something to do with stability, but thanks for the clarification.

in XM-L2 its a problem , i would like to drive it at 3.5amps, but would not get much time on a fresh battery before output starts falling, especially on copper.
However, if i had a buck/boost driver, or was lighting using mains power then i would have no complaints

Bump if no one is interested ill sell the rest of the 20mm boards

PM sent for reflowed XPG2’s. Thanks again for all of your hard work in bringing us copper sinkpads. Do you think XPG2 on copper will survive 4.5A?

i have a cree led in my aspheric build right now and im pushing it at 5.5 amps ill go see what led i used
