It would take a brave man and a very experienced modder to upgrade his TK75. I don’t think it would be that hard, but messing with such a well and high quality engineered light, with my ameteur modding skills it’s a no go for me….
I am seconds away from pulling the trigger on the BTU,anyone would be hard pressed to find a comparable preforming light at this price point. Thanks all for the input/beamshots,the emitter upgrade is an excellent option to have and seems easily done vs TK-75.
Should probably explain a little better. I probably could upgrade the TK75 without too much trouble, I just don’t want to get a scratch on it. Probably the only difference between modding either light is the TK75 has a fixed bezel. I’ve managed to remove fixed bezels in the past quite easily by carefully applying a bit of anti-adhesive gunk, it’s just that I have a habit of being quite rough when I mod my lights.
Just read the whole thread, he he. Seems we flashaholics are quite passionate about our lights, I’m no different and quite obviously a TK75 owner.
I don’t have the BTU Shocker. Can’t say I really want one either. I do have the TK75. I wouldn’t trade it for 2 BTU Shockers. The TK75 is the best light that I own. I would pick it over the TN31 or L3 Illumination K40 even.
I also own the TK75 and wouldnt trade it for any other light. Period. I do love the BTU also. The all around performance is close in every catagory but the smaller form factor and UI of the Fenix gives it the edge to me even at a slightly higher price
