Apparently DX is starting to ship enough fast, sadly for my case through CP which reach my country in many more days than HKP...a week ago I made four orders around three item each, two from DX and two from KD ...

I have four RA code registered packets which 'left' and 'outward' yesterday, lets see who win this race...

Also both postal services seem very efficient as all is sent...or they lie?

Received my lux meter and some RCR2 cells from DX today, 17 days after ordering. The meter comes packaged in a plastic box with a snap closure. The meter rests in the cutouts of the foam lined plastic box. Cells were in the usual taped bubble wrap. DX seems to be on a roll.

I also think DX has been on a roll lately. My favorite vendor is still manafont but the orders I have been getting from DX have been between 7 and 11 days from order. I think that’s pretty impressive.
I also think they have the best website. It’s easy to find what you want and checkout is painless. They have never sent me anything broken or wrong either. I might be setting myself up here but I hope they keep up this new standard.

I ordered some pretty high-volume stuff (5 HDMI cables) 3 weeks ago. No sign of shipment yet. I'm not that bothered - one identical cable here would buy 37 from DX. And they aren't for me and I've ben paid for them already.

But it would be nice if they got around to shipping them faster.

The shipping times are just so wonderously random, It seems to be down to them not haveing most of the items in stock and instead have them supplied on demand.

Occasionally I've ordered things they must have had sitting there waiting to be sent out as they were amazingly fast.

It's all part of the DX experience.. :P

I ordered this Nite Ize Backbone case from DX : http://www.dealextreme.com/p/nite-ize-protective-waterproof-cloth-digital-camera-bag-with-belt-clip-camouflage-size-s-70237 .

Firstly, received it must faster than previous orders.

I tried to open/close the zip a few times ( never seen a zip like it before ) - one of the the zipper snaps broke off.

Requested a replacment from DX ( attached a photo ), DX agreed the next day !

Dear customer

Sorry for the inconvenience. We’ll arrange a replacement for you. Do you wanna pay $2 for a tracking number? Pls advise

Regards

Sent a copy to Nite Ize. They haven't even bothered to reply.

So DX > Nite Ize.

They pack emitters mounted on stars in only bubble wrap package inside the envelope. From the damage to the emitters' domes it looks like they were lying in a pile and not protected from scratches, prior to shipment.

Happened twice with XP-G on 16mm base (the second was sent as a replacement to the first due to these defects, received with much minor defects but of the same kind - deep scratches in the dome).

Hey it's Peter the Spam guy again...

Curious about J888 as well. Location looks like HK (?), why bother ordering through DX? Ah nevermind, he is in the UK...

I have never had an issue with damaged products from DX. Lately their shipping has been really quick again like the DX I became enamored with years ago. I just need to learn to never order from December through March.

I've had good luck with DX. Some of my orders have been slow, but others were very fast. Their customer service seems acceptable. I got a SkyRay S-A1 that fried, and they sent out another a couple days after I reported it, without asking for pictures or causing any hassle. The new one promptly fried too, and I requested a refund, which again took just a couple days from the time I requested it to it being in my paypal account, no questions or hassles. They also have a nice selection of non-flashlight products. Occasionally things ship same or next day. I still can't believe they had an, umm... female-specific accessory (hey, it takes batteries at least!) in stock and shipped it ~12 hours after I ordered it. Then again, I once waited a month for something to ship, with their customer service just giving an excuse about new year's delays. Their descriptions seem to be the most accurate of any chinese product store I've used, with them pointing out the actual capacity of batteries. (i.e. "product print 9000mah, actual 1300mah" and similar)

While researching the Ultrafire brand, I ran across a site perpetuating itself as the "Official Ultrafire Web Shop" and on their "Bad List Website" tab is Deal Extreme. They claim that DX is selling Ultrafire rip-off's. But I have also read somewhere that the "Official U W S" is an Ebay seller of Ultrafire flashlights and the site I saw may not be a legit manufacturer sponsored website.

Not trying to bad mouth DX or that other site, as I have not ordered from either, but anyone know who's claims are correct?

Thx.

I am waiting on an order from DX that shipped 7/7/2011 according to the tracking number it has not even entered Australia ...I contacted DX there response was to wait ...lol...Ive already waited over 40 days ...this is my third order from DX the last 2 orders arrived within 3 weeks ...I think this will be my last order from them

will wait another 24hrs then open paypal dispute

Frown

Probably true, they sell a lot of clones

I have two lights coming from DX. The first one is from China. It took 27 days until they gave me a notice that it had shipped. The note also said 7-10 days for shipping. We'll see.

The other light I ordered from the new DX USA warehouse. I ordered it on the 12th and it shipped on the 17th (supposedly). What happened to the fast shipping promise from the USA warehouse?

Sucks but I am used to it I guess.

yeah there as slack as ! Im on 45 days since notify'd shipped and still no sign of order Frown

I ordered some small 2-3$ thingy last year.

Not just yet here.

slow delivery

Fast delivery from their UK warhouse to France: 5 days.

No risk of additionnal customs fees because it is within Europe. Shipped with Royal Airmail Signed For (priority handling & registered delivery), each item in bubbles enveloppe, all enveloppes in a larger plastic bag.

You may very well won't win your PP dispute, if the package really has left HK and bound for Aus and the package is registered (they do that for anything above usd15).

You may wish to order from USA as they are generally faster by say a few days to 1-2 weeks. I have had shipments that took 21-40 days from like 10 different aliexpress vendors, Manafont, Kaidomain, DX, bestinone.net and even cnqualitygoods.

BTW, I have heard of 3 cases in which packages got lost by USPS, the latest being a Zebralight SC600.

I'd believe generally sellers are not responsible for goods lost, some sellers do send out the item again as a gesture of goodwill. If you sent via Express courier or purchased insurance then you could get your money back, but it will take long. The best is "a guarantee" by the seller to send another package out, for eg lazerer.com. They guarantee the power of their lasers ($2 additional) plus guarantee goods received.

I always order with one-off Paypal payments rather than through a PP account. That way, at least in the UK, I can request a ChargeBack from my bank if goods ordered and paid for never arrive.
