XM-L2 on copper (ledtech.de)

That means that U2’s emmiters are being shipped again from Cree?

More than likely they finally acquired another real at a price that they were willing to pay.

It did take them long enough, i had seriously considered buying a few till recently

I found that a couple days ago also. Too bad the shipping kills it for me for a small order to the US.

Shipping cost will kill the deal?
If some people in US or other countries want some - why don’t you form a group, one person order all LEDs (pay once the high international shipping costs) and send the LEDs to the other group members with cheap domestic shipping and the group split the high interrnational shipping costs?

Other possibility:
I order the LEDs and send these to you. If you want a tracking number you can save only a few (round about 1,80€) without tracking number you can save 3,85€.
This option will only work, if minimum two leds are ordered (if the order value is higher as 15€ the domestic shipping is for free). The international shipping costs aren’t extrem expensive, but the Paypal fee isn’t low (in Germany we don’t have the free fee “gift” option, which is available in some countries).
The Paypal fee is included in the shipping costs and this is the reason why you can save only 1,80€ or 3,85€.

The package could include a lot of leds or other things and the shipping costs will not increase (max. weight 500 gram, max. size: length + height + width=90 cm.

I just noticed that digikey also has XM-L2 U2 E1 group available here

http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/XMLBWT-00-0000-0000U20E1/XMLBWT-00-0000-0000U20E1CT-ND/3770901

what is E1?

E1 is a group that containts the following tints: 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D
Basically emitters that are around 6500K.
Link to large picture here.

ic ,thank you ,so you are buying and you have 25% change to get the one you want.most plp at that range i believe want 1A.

I would most likely take a 1C since it is less blue. But if you are a tint snob it can always be a little lottery how the tint will look.
I have my fingers crossed that someone (Fasttech or Intl-outdoor) will get U2 in 5700k at a decent price. The bare emitter is already added in the BLF LED database (if you choose to see all XM-L2 emitters)

I didn’t order from digikey because I don’t want to play lottery to see if I get a 1C, would prefer a 2B tint, those are supposed to be available at the end of march

I can’t get over the fact that they can’t read the reel and list the tint bin.
I’d prefer to get 1D just to mix things up. 1A is a little cool to me, not to mention it’s the ubiquitous ‘primo’ CW tint.

That’s a fine idea Buwuve. I was just gonna wait until some of the more mainstream suppliers carry them, but if anyone is interested in forming a group let me know.

I will write it down, if some members of America show interest.
At the moment the first two LEDs, which I will order on Sunday or Monday go to Cyprus (Europe).

I used this LED in my X8.

The pciture in the shop shwos the XM-L U2 not the XM-L2.I ask the shop about it and I was informed, that they haven’t the time until now.

Now I have the order and here is a picture. Both are XM-L2 LEDs.

nice , waiting to see how will work with more than 3 Amps.

received my order from Buwuve ,thank you very much, fast shipping
the leds are very nice installed one on my hd2011 with 3.8Amps driver temporary, its a monster!

I hope you get paid in advance… there was a story on the news today that Cyprus was not allowing any payments out of the country.

payments are working fine, you just cant withdraw big amount of money and transfer them to another country.
