Review: BTU Shocker (3 x XM-L T6 NW | 3 x 18650)

Looks like your switch has broken off. A soldering iron and a few minutes will fix it.

sales@cnqualitygoods.com

Still no tracking information from him. I’m going to email him again to ask for it.

Ok, that’s the email I’ve been using, along with others. I’ll send another reply right now. See what happens…

The switch looks like a Omten Reverse Clicky that is sold $2 for 5. If I am not mistaken, they are rated for 1.5 amps. Wondering whether they are designed to take the high load that the BTU requires.

any thoughts?

It’s designed for 1.5A, but I’m hitting one with 12.5A right now… I doubt it will last very long J)
I think they will last for a while at 3-4A.

mine came broken like this as well . you need to re-solder it back . the switch itself isnt heavy duty for high current for too long. a trying to find heavy witch for my btu

I received an email from Ric. The Balder SE1 (I had one in my order) just came back in stock yesterday, and will be shipped right away.
I knew there was a legit reason for the delay, and I wasn’t worried about losing anything. I just would have appreciated an update somewhere along the way.
Now where was that DQG18650 Preorder link

Good stuff man. I still haven’t gotten word on a tracking number. I wonder why he woudn’t give a number right away because don’t you usually get a number right away once you ship a package?

Same here, no tracking number. Would be nice, but I usually don’t use them anyway. Other than to verify that something was shipped, I do not find them reliable for finding out where a package is.

Ya I agree but as you said I want it to confirm that he actually sent the package. Because if he hasn’t then I want to dispute the money I sent him sooner rather than later.

Does anyone know the emitter size on the shocker? Are they 16mm’s?

Thinking of doing some upgrades…

Yes, original stars are 16mm, but 20mm fits as well.

Thanks the!

I remember reading here that 20mm stars (copper) were better for heat distribution than the 16mm.

Does anyone else remember that?

In theory this could be true, but I do not recall any test results that prove it. I suspect the difference would be very small.

Got my BTU Shocker yesterday, awesome light! I made a thread about it here: Got my BTU Shocker today (Brief impression and beamshots)

Hi guys. I’m about to order my Shocker in few days, 1 week tops.

Few questions regarding shipping.

Someone here said, that even if you pick registered mail, as shipping option, they still might send it trough Fedex, i guess that could cost me around 30 euros +? i’m from EU.

If they ship it trough Fedex, and i refuse the payment when they deliver it to my door, will they keep my order (not give me the Shocker) until i pay, or they will still give the order, and ask Ric/CNQG for payment?

How much would it take to arrive to EU generally via other metods, registered mail post or whatever is the best (fastest free) metod, with tracking number, not more then 2 weeks i guess?

Thanks.

dazed1, you can email Ric directly at sales@cnqualitygoods.com and ask your questions. You’ll find him to be responsive and quite knowledgeable.

Enjoy your new shocker… its a beast!

Am I missing something? I realize that CNQ/FFL only offer the BTU Shocker with DRY driver now, no BTU driver anymore?

CNQG/FF sold out of the btu driver just after thanksgiving/end of Noverber. Ordered mine(btu driver) with a black friday coupon and a couple of days later they were sold out.
