This is just from my iPod and much brighter in person. This is a 275W overdriven bulb running on 7 IMR MNKE 26650s.
You got one of those... Lucky! Care to estimate how many lux it puts out?
Lux I’ll have to measure. My meter does run low but the big reflector doesn’t give too bad of throw. Lumens are going to be 14-17,000 depending on how charged the batteries are. I’ll see what I can do for a lux measurement, but this particular bulb is all about flood. I did find that if I take the head all the way to toward the end of the threads it does have better throw. It does start fires and fast, but don’t look at the paper or you will be blinded.
Compared to some other lights, I would estimate this about 90k Lux. But, again, this is at at least 14,000 Lumens so that’s forgivable.

Yep, and it really is beastly. VPT of any kind will out throw it, but the lumen output of this really is insane. I’d have to turn on 3 of my biggest lights to equal this much power. 7 in series is kind of scary, but I’m using IMRs and I’m using Lambda’s tailcaps so at worse we’re looking at a Taepodong-2 here, so no worries, lol. I did get it with a spare and a much smaller filament bulb.
I’ve always had a soft spot for incans, but have never had any others besides a MC and a 28v Milwaukee. This is about as good as it gets with a 100CRI light. We should pass around this thing if shipping wasn’t so much, really.
BTW Jmpaul320, did you know the SBT90 is now available in NB flux bin….Already let Kevin know so might be seeing an even better VPT, hopefully…
That thing is a beautiful exercise in excess...and probably the only incan I've ever lusted after !

Really, though I hope everybody can experience a good incan. JmPaul320…I was so close to buying the same light you have, I just couldn’t find any quality NiMh hi current cells, so was waiting to get something big.

Will the 458 set stuff on fire?
Yeah, no problem! Actually about any of the bigger mag mod incans will. I know even a regular MagCharger I can get dark colored paper to smoke.
But, actually, you have to be pretty careful with these. I keep the tailcap off when not in use. It’s really like holding a hand held version of one of those 500W Torchiere floor lamps that used to be really popular, but still kinda dangerous.
I’ll try to get a real beam shot. Incans are most impressive to behold in person, 100 CRI has it’s benefits, but the actual warmth of the IR blasting out the front it what really blows you away!
