Hypocrisy? Bias? Naaahhhh!

from the tone of it I agree with ol, I will however bite and point out that I’ve always found cnqg/fancyflashlights fine to deal with, along with intloutdoor and now fasttech.

they keep the parts I want at a reasonable price, give me good service, are quick in my experience to rectify any issues and dont spam the forum.

if this makes me a shill so be it, but some dealers fail to stick to the very few simple rules here, that’s why they are not here anymore. end of story really.

I can truthfully say that I have always, albeit slowly, received every single order that I have placed with Chinese marketers. The ONE time I got stung was by an outfit in Washington State.
No, I don’t get Swiss-watch quality (usually), but neither do I expect it or pay for it.

From my experience, i believe your allegations are unjustified.

These types of posts are generally pointless. I’d rather have someone explain to me how a buck boost driver works.

buck drops the voltage. boost… well, boost boosts the voltage 8)

If i had $500 per light to spend and no interest in the technology or modding, i wouldn’t frequent Budget light forum…
Now that said we do things here you can’t buy from a mainstream manufacturer, a few examples, designing our own drivers, modding lights in unique ways, replacing mcpcbs with sinkpads, some members make their own light bodies or parts, build their own test equipment and test emitters for real life output.
So perhaps low money outlay means more creativity for us?
In my case even if someday i could afford that $500 light, i would still come here for the envelope pushing we do
Isn’t it ironic that BLF ideas can be so good they get stolen.

We all want quality, and have differing means of paying for it, higher quality will always cost more, but in general most of us go for the best we can get at a certain price range. If lower price means some manageable bs from a seller thats the unfortunate non dollar cost we can’t avoid. I can’t imagine anyone here likes it, and if we could eliminate it somehow i can’t imagine any forum member not jumping at the chance. If some have it in their nature to stick up for unscrupulous sellers and practices, then i feel sorry for them but will not let them define the forum or the good people here.

I’m not sure I understand your post. I’ll tell you why. When ever anyone mentions Wallbuys, you post and say how good they are OR you make a comment that goes like ‘lets see how long it takes for the haters to turn up’ That kind of thing, so, If you are saying that people are calling you a ‘shill’ then I can understand this. I personally don’t think you are really, nor am I trying to insult you. Just trying to understand where you are coming from.

Marc.

so does linear

can we stay on topic here :stuck_out_tongue:

MotoGP is on by the way.

no, it would be better if we went right off topic because its going to end in a flame war….

so, anyone got any amusing light related anecdotes? I’ve been looking at a house today, it has a huge thrower test range out front and no light pollution 8)

shill! shill!!! :stuck_out_tongue:
j/k, all you had to do was say “slightly”, and the conversation would have been over, and you were also off topic anyways
i already put in my serious contribution to this thread

Must get out the road to my other test range. Too much light pollution here. If only it’d stop snowing there. Currently –6 (About 20F) and snowing.

Again!

My car is 4x4 but can’t handle ten feet of snow.

technically the conversations was buck and boost drivers. no room for linear thinking in this thread
