Trustfire A8 "Clone" spotted at DX

Just spotted this Trustfire A8 clone at DX: Sky Eye F15: $21.20

Then there's the Rustu R180:$26.70

Bit pricey for "clones" I guess. Though these say 3AAA compatible.

-Garry

What is this one a clone of? It's a Shadow something, right?

Sky Eye F13: $21.60

-Garry

Ok, kinda looks like a Shadow JM07 but with a single tailswitch instead of the 2nd side clicky.

-Garry

i wonder if the handle will fit the defiant 3c lol

Created a separate thread for the Shadow JM07 discussion: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/17809 .

the f15 shows a 3xAAA holder in a pic, and its listed as included. could be great for gifting to non flashaholics.
i wonder why they dont sell 3xAAA to 26650 adapters

I would get 4AAA holders from FastTech to run in it, but yes it could be a nice gifter.

-Garry

a 4xAAA will fit 26650 lights?

Well some 26650 lights I do believe (i.e. the 57mm UltraOK HD2010 look-a-alike). I'd have to measure to be sure, but I bet most would fit.

-Garry

nice. the white one? its a little wide and short, but may be worth buying one to try it in my 26650 lights. would be nice to have one, just in case

I think you are correct Garry………… I think I even put that 4xaaa carrier in my real HD2010 and it fit and powered up… But that might be just a figment of my decaying memory……. :~

Yep, this one.

nice lights…damn you guys… $20 here… $20 there… next thing you know i’ll spent enough to buy me a Fenix RC40
lately i’m into 26650 light, it feel much better in my hand than 18650 light, especially the mod’ed ones
i really need to stay away from BLF, can’t help myself… argghh

The anodized threads on the Sky Eye are a nice improvement. It's too bad they didn't add lanyard holes, particularly holes that would allow perfect tail standing. That would've been enough for me to buy one just so I could try swapping the tube with my BLF A8.

I’ll be getting one of these. I’ll let you guys know how it is

Good! Anxious to hear about it!

I forgot to get measurements on my 4AAA carrier and a sample of 26650 lights. I'll try to post back with that info. soon.

-Garry

i hope it really has no memory, and is driven harder than 1200mah
ill be able to do a true apples to apples comparison with this and the BLF A8
to be honest, they had contacted me and asked if i was willing to do a light review for them. i wanted to do a different light, one that was very interesting and no reviews on or really anything. but they wanted to send this light instead.
i havent totally decided yet, but i may do some sort of giveaway with it when im done… but dont hold me to it :stuck_out_tongue:
edit: this host is cheaper than the trustfire a8s i have seen, and has anno’d threads, comes with 18650 and 3xAAA adapters. may be a decent deal at the asking price

Created a new thread here for discussion of 3xAAA vs. 4xAAA vs. 26650's size comparisons.

-Garry

Now DX added the UF LZZ-F15, identical at first sight to the sky eye 15, about 0.30$ cheaper XP

Who knows about the quality of both (which is the better…)
